The car came to a stop in front of the seemingly giant house as I stared in awe everything was so beautiful and well maintained. l felt like I was staring at a scene from one of my favorite books, so enchanting and magical I could not help but smile. I climbed out behind josh standing beside the car still struck by the the beauty before me. I was brought back to reality as Josh asked confused " Do we need to send someone for the rest of your things?" I took the bag he held out to me, feeling my cheeks go red in embarrassment. " This is all I have" I whispered not wanting to look up and see the pity I was sure was written on his face. He scoffed lightly but seemingly let the situation go for now. " Follow me it is late and I know you must be tired" He sighed, leading the way towards the entrance. Once inside, I realized the exterior could not even compare to the inside of this beautiful mansion. Everything was modern and slick almost looking like royalty should be living here. I jumped as a small blonde-haired woman popped up beside me. "I'm Anna". She smiled taking my bag from my hands. She continued " I'll be showing you to your room and helping you with whatever you might need". "I am Marlee it is nice to meet you anna", I smiled. "I'm going to leave you ladies to it. I have some things to attend to" Josh said as he nodded in my direction before turning and disappearing down the hall, Leaving myself and Anna standing in the dimly lit entrance. I followed the small blonde as we made our way up the grand staircase to our right. As we reached the 4th floor, she led me down the long hallway, stopping just before a large oak door to our right. " That would be the Alphas suite" She pointed to the large door to the left. " And this will be your personal suite" She said as she pushed the large oak doors open. As I entered the room I couldn't help but smile. The room was large and beautiful with a living room area of its own and a large king-sized canopy bed looking as though it had been hand carved just for me. I wiped the tears that were falling from my eyes, realizing that this may be the nicest room I had ever stepped foot in, knowing this was all for me. " You don't like it?" Anna exclaimed, rushing over to put her hand on my shoulder. " No No" I whispered, "It's just so beautiful im just over whelmed" i sighed giving her a reassuring smile. " Where are my manors." She sighed , " I know you must be exhausted. I will leave you to rest and will come get you for breakfast in the morning" She smiled. Big at me. " Thank you so much Anna" I smiled back at her, as she nodded and disappeared out the large oak door closing it behind her. Alone for the first time in what felt like ages, I wandered around the large room admiring all the space that was Ment for me. I wondered into the bathroom, flipping on the light and taking in the massive clawfoot tub that was set in the center of the room with lotions and soap in the prettiest bottles I had ever seen in my life. I reached down, turning on the water, deciding that I needed to wash this day away. Well, actually I needed to wash several days away, considering I could not remember the last time I had been allowed to take a proper bath. As I slipped out of my sundress and under clothes i stepped over the side of the tub, sinking down into the warm water. Once I finally decided to get out before I started to prune, I wrapped the towel around me that was hanging from the wall and made my way to the bed where Anna had laid my bag. I untied the bag, digging through its contents and finding my mother's brush, I sat silently brushing my thick red curls, when a loud knock startled me causing me to jump clear off the bed. "How did it go beta?" A male's voice said, sounding as though it came from the hallway. I held my breath doing my best to listen to the conversation that was clearly meant to be private. "Well" I heard Josh sounding some what strained, " The trip itself went well, Alpha but I believe there are some things you are going to want to know." He stopped. And I heard the male's voice thick with concern " What? What Is it?" he sounded almost annoyed. With a big sigh, josh continued " Anderson, it was her father. Her father sold her to your parents under the impression that she was coming here as a slave! She looks as though she hasnt a proper meal in months and the awful man sent her away with only a potato sack of personal belongings." I could hear the pity in his voice and it made me cringe as the tears fell from my eyes with no warning. I rolled over onto the bed, not wanting to hear the Alphas response, wishing that I could disappear into the soft sweet-smelling blankets. Dear goddess, this is the softest bed I have ever been in is the last thing I remember thinking as I drifted to sleep. I woke suddenly, forgetting for a moment where I was. I glanced over at the clock that sat on the nightstand by the bed to find it was 3am. I could hear the noises coming from across the hall that told me that the alpha I had been brought here to marry already had someone he preferred to spend his nights with. I tried to swallow past the lump that had formed in my throat. "What does it matter" Mae hissed "We haven't even seen this man, and yet we have all these nice things now because of him who cares if he is with some w***e". I pulled the blanket tight around myself, knowing Mae was right. I drifted back to sleep, blocking out the sounds coming from across the hall "Just be Grateful", I whispered to myself.
