Marlee's POV
***************
I stood there staring at the door he had just I exited from, trying to catch my breath. "What is wrong with me" I whispered out loud.
"He is our mate" Mae said matter of factly. I stood there silently processing what Mae had said. I knew there was something different about the way I felt when he touched my hand. His smell was intoxicating, But what if he rejects me.
My mind was racing so I decided to make use of this time to busy my mind. I opened the closet and began moving the racks and racks of clothes cluttering up the room inside. There were about 8 racks in total. I dragged them one by one into the walk-in closet and sitting in the vanity chair after bringing in the last rack, I began pulling things off one by one, admiring the beautiful fabrics and colors. One dress in particular caught my eye. It was a beautiful lavender colored sundress made from the softest fabric. I discarded the oversized t-shirt I had been wearing into a pile on the floor and pulled the sun dress over my head. I turned to look at myself in the mirror and was shocked at how I looked as though I belonged here. My red hair was flowing flawlessly around my face and the dress fit me like a glove. I couldn't remember the last time that I didn't feel like I would stick out like a sore thumb.
A loud knock on the door brought me back to reality and I hurried to the door. "Good morning". Chimed anna Anna she pushed past me with a giant tray of food. " I am so sorry about last night". She started " I am still learning my way around. I should have made sure that was the right room for you. I am so sorry about that " She sighed as she placed the food on the table in front of the couch.
" It is okay, anna". I smiled " This place is huge. I am sure i will do my share of getting lost" I giggled lightly, trying to lighten the mood.
"Oh I'm so glad you understand" She squealed as she threw her arms around me. " I will let you get to eating your food. I know you must be starved, I'll come and find you later on and maybe we can have some girl time to talk once you settle in" Anna gave her biggest smile before turning to leave before I could say anything.
I made my way over to the couch, checking out the massive pile of food Anna had left. There was fruit of all kinds, Bacon, Sausage, Eggs and toast. I grabbed the tray and sat it beside me on the couch and dug in. Everything tasted so amazing and before I knew it, I had tasted almost everything on the tray. I sat back resting my head on the back of the couch, which suddenly felt so much more comfortable than the bed, and I drifted to sleep.
I woke to the sound of glass shattering all around me. I blinked through sleepy eyes, confused at what was happening. When everything came into focus, a massive brown wolf stood before me growling and coming closer from the window it had just burst through. I put my hands up in a way to show the wolf I was no threat, but it did not matter. The wolf attacked full force before I or mae knew what was happening. The wolf was on top of us, biting and scratching every part of me that it could reach. I tried to scream but no words came.
"GET UP". I heard Mae screaming inside my head.
"Get up Find help or we will die!" She screamed at me again.
I blinked, trying to focus on my surroundings. The wolf was gone and I had been left here to die. I was covered in blood. My own blood, I realized as it continued to leak from my wounds. My head felt so heavy but Mae continued her screaming " Get Help now, Marlee" I tried to stand and quickly fell to my knees, landing on all the shards of glass on the floor I cried out in pain, dragging myself across the floor and glass knowing I could not stay there any longer.
Once I finally made it to the door leading to the hall, I could hear voices but not well enough to make them out. I reached for the door handle, pulling myself up from the ground. Once standing, I twisted the door knob, slinging the door open. I staggered into the hall between the three men who had been standing there conversing. Everyone froze.
I tried to speak but nothing came out and when his eyes met mine, frozen in fear, Anderson looked as though he had been attacked himself. The entire room began to swim and just as I was sure that I was about to hit the ground, His smell engulfed me and I could tell that I had been scooped off my feet and into Anderson's arms.
Everything was dark I could hear the hurried frantic voices around me but could not see anything, We were moving fast, possibly running. I began to panic not being able to see had become overwhelming and it felt as though my body were ripping apart at its seams. I tried to speak but all that came out was what sounded like the faintest cry.
