The Greek policeman, Leksi, with high-powered, night vision binoculars perched between two boulders in the foothills surrounding the small Mykonos airstrip and waited for a certain King Air jet to land. He had been informed the airplane that belonged to Demetrius Kariakos had taken off yesterday without a flight plan and he had been assigned to this shift and ordered to notify the Police Chief, Alexandros Christofides at any hour the plane landed.
He didn’t mind the boredom because it was stress free. The night vision glasses were needed only to confirm the plane’s markings and identify the passengers as the runway lights and generous moonlight illuminated the airstrip. Shortly after 1:00 AM Officer Leksi sighted the approaching aircraft and called the Police Chief.
