Demetrius
Demetrius crawled out of bed later than usual, still groggy from a restless night. He retrieved a cup of coffee and his complimentary copy of USA Today. He read in six languages: Greek, English, French, Spanish, German, and Russian, and recognized enough words in another six to get by. He considered this fluency essential for someone who traveled the world and never knew where his next assignment was coming from.
As he worked out in the hotel gym, he hoped his perspiration might also lubricate his mind, still reticent about accepting the assignment because of the time restraints. After a ninety minute workout he showered and dressed for his rendezvous with Gabriel.
