66 Demetrius Demetrius listened to the purr of the rotary blades and watched the helicopter’s shadow slide across the blue-green waters, its hue changing with the Sea of Crete’s contour. The Huey’s shadow diffused as it climbed and Demetrius raised his head to see Amara’s profile outlined with a thin white light. She seemed like an oasis during this fiery journey.
