TRIGGERED!!!!

5 YEARS BACK

My father Rodrick Quinton, the Alpha of crescent moon pack and my mother Elizabeth Quinton, the Luna had gone to attend an all Alphas meeting with the alpha king and I was left with my little brother who was only 5 years younger than me. The packs have been facing random attacks and something had to be done. Rumour had it that, banished members from each pack had formed a rogue pack and were behind all the attacks. My parents had instructed me and my brother to stop taking random strolls in the forest without protection for some time until everything was back to normal

My parents left, I went upstairs in my room. I lay on my bed, eyes closed I was listening to my favorite song for the 10th time today. suddenly, Luke came into my room and pulled my earphones off. I opened my eyes and saw a sinister smile on his face.

He was up to no good. He wanted to break some rules today.

“don’t even think about it” I stated as I got up and crossed my arms Infront of my chest.

“Enough with the perfect older sister and daughter act, have some fun today!!!” Luke said to me with a playful smile plastered on his face.

“How about a hunt before mom and dad come back” he added. This crazy thing must be out his mind. I was not about to get 3 hours of counselling straight because he wants to have fun.

“NO” I Stated firmly and tried to shove him out of my room, but he resisted

“Come on Izzy just one hour and we shall be back, I miss seeing your lazy ass lose, we can just sneak out and no one will ever find out.

He wasn’t about to take no for an answer.

“ I think you meant to say you miss hanging out with your awesome sister and best friend” I said as I scoffed and turned to leave doorway.

Luke and I were the only kids and we had been so close growing up; he was my partner in crime. Our parents feared that one day we would burn down the whole pack if we weren’t separated at times.

“Fine, I miss hanging out with you, it’s been a long time since we last did something fun together” he answered

“But you know the forest is out of bounds till further notice, anything in mind master mind!!”

“no one is ever going to know, get dressed, we’re sneaking out in the next 10 minutes” he shouted and headed to his room to prepare.

After dressing up, we gathered our bows, knives and other hunting tools we needed and set out on our way to the forest, the plan was successful and we got there without any guards noticing. Luke was good at target shooting and hunting competitions with him were impossible to win. After a long search we finally found our target, we could see deer grazing in the distance, Luke was ahead of me, he signalled me move forward. I tip toed carefully to avoid alerting the prey and came to Luke’s side. He carefully retrieved an arrow from the back and got ready to shoot, he released the arrow and it’s whistling could be heard in the dead silence of the forest.

He managed to injure the deer on its leg so that it could not run away or maybe run for a long distance if it dared to run. He stood up with a smile on his face, I could tell he was amused by his skills. Seeing him happy always made me smile and seeing him sad also made my heart ache.

“As amazing as ever!!!” he said and tapped my shoulder. I just smiled and shook my head wondering how someone can be so young and yet so full of themselves.

“Alright, I can no longer hear any sounds, I suppose it has dropped down, I will go and check it out” he yelled

“I will be back before you know it” he added and winked at me, then ran towards the direction which the deer had taken earlier.

It had been 30 minutes since Luke went to get that deer, he should have been back by now. May be something has caught his attention, I thought to myself but then we can’t risk mom and dad finding us out of the house and more so in the forest.

“Luke!!!’ I tried to mind link him but all I received was silence. That wasn’t a good sign, we were within the same territories so I expected the link to be strong

“Luke!!” I called out loudly this time again. My gut told me something was wrong, I decided to head in the direction where he had gone earlier and I think I somehow got lost and went in another direction.

“Luke!!” I called out again and there came no answer. I stood baffled in the forest and my heart was pounding in chest, I could hear every single sound it made with each beat. This is all my fault I would have followed him; I would have refused this whole plan to begin with. I was still confused when I heard a loud scream coming from the other direction, without thinking I ran off to that direction as fast as could.

As soon as I reached there my eyes widened in terror and my heart almost stopped. I saw two filthy wolves over Luke, one was tearing at his shoulder and another one on his limb. I stood glued to the ground like something was keeping me from moving to my brothers rescue. I was still shocked and too stunned to move when I heard another loud scream from Luke’s direction. One of the wolves was passing a knife right through his chest, I saw the other wolf motioning the others to leave and they ran disappearing into the other side of the forest

I ran towards Luke’s directions and knelt down and pulled him to my thighs and held him there, a red liquid was oozing out of his mouth and he was trying so hard not to close his eyes.

“NO NO NO Luke!!, look at me” I shouted as I shook him, he was coughing violently and his eyes were becoming weaker each passing second. I removed the knife that was still stuck in his chest and pressed my hand down at wound trying to stop the blood from coming out.

“HELP HELP!!!” I screamed at the top of my lungs trying to get any kind of help. I couldn’t leave him like this.
