I have always waited for the day I would get to question Emily about the hatred she seemed to have for me. In fact, that was exactly what I wanted to ask her right now, but one look at her face and I dropped the thought.
Her eyes stayed on mine, waiting for me to say why I had stopped her.
Taking another step closer, I searched for the right words.
To be honest, I was calculating every single one of them. The last thing I needed was to say something that would irritate her even more. Not that I cared about what she thought of me. I had learned the hard way.
“Emily,” I called again.
