My phone was still pressed to my ear.
"What about the merger documents?" I asked.
Daniel didn't answer immediately.
When he finally spoke, the playfulness in his voice was gone.
"I think you need to see something."
My expression hardened. “What happened?"
"I was going through the final copy Legal sent over before filing it this evening."
"And?"
"There are changes."
I frowned. “What kind of changes?"
"The kind neither you nor Dr. Emily approved of."
I straightened. “What?.”
"Yes."
I was already walking toward the study.
"What exactly happened? what page?."
"Page fourteen." He said almost immediately.
I could hear the flipping of papers, which I presumed were files, on his end.
I reached my desk, opened my laptop and pulled up the digital copy.
