Derek POV
"Mm… mmph," Bailey's moans filled my office as she sucked my d**k.
I groaned in pleasure as I laced my hands in her blonde hair. My midday snack lay on top of my desk.
She had come in to serve me my food when I asked her to get on her knees and suck me.
This was the only reason I had managed to keep her, even though I received daily reports about her sleeping around. Though I won't blame the men that fell for her. She gave a mind-blowing blow job.
I had instructed my secretary to make sure no one entered my office unannounced and disturbed me.
Just then my father burst into my office with a paper in his hands.
I hissed in anger as Bella stopped.
The table was framed from outside so no one could see what was going on beneath my side of the table.
"I have been calling. Why! Why have you not been answering!"
I roll my eyes, more at the pleasure I am missing than at this man's presence.
"Because," I pause, trying to look professional. I sit upright, draw myself closer, a way of ordering her to continue.
I stare at him. "Because I don't care. I don't want to answer."
Before I could stop him, he had seen Bella.
His eyes dampened with disgust. We both stared at Bella's swollen mouth.
"Bella," he called out in a stern voice.
"Sir," she answered in a low voice, her head bent even though she was still hiding under the table.
"Get out," he orders.
I roll my eyes as I watch her disappear.
"So I tell you to give me grandchildren and instead you f**k around."
"And I told you to leave me the f**k alone. Yet here you are."
He takes a seat and tosses the paper he was holding to me.
I stare hard at the papers in front of me, disgusted by the sight of them. A marriage agreement.
By the fact that my dad walked into my office just to throw this piece of s**t at me.
"I am not getting married, Dad," I said.
Final.
No additional statement.
My dad's jaw tightens, he sits upright, resting his arm on his chair. He glares at me with those f*****g green eyes that I had inherited.
"You are not getting any younger, Damien."
A pause.
"I know."
"The company needs this alliance."
"I know," I say, as I scribble a little note on my table.
"I need grandchildren," he adds his last main point.
I shrug, tossing the paper onto the table as I lean into my chair. "And I don't see how that is any of my business, Dad. You need grandchildren to keep your company. There is an orphanage. Adopt!"
He squeezes his hands a little hard, till his knuckles turn white. "I want my blood, Damien."
"Fine," I say, sitting up to stare him in the eye. "f**k someone and get them pregnant. It's not like you honored the marriage you had with mum when she was alive.
Do the same now. And leave me alone. I am not getting married! Not today and not ever!
If I want to have kids I would do it my way, but till then, take your f*****g paper that you brought with you and escort yourself out of my office," I say, pointing at the door.
My father glares at me, then slowly starts laughing.
His usual dry, humorless laughter, the kind he does when he is about to say something dark or threaten someone, which would normally make people afraid.
But not me.
I am an upgraded version of him. So whatever he does never has an effect on me.
"If you don't get married to Katherine and go ahead with the merger, Damien," he pauses, pointing a finger at me, "I would deal with you, Damien. I would take the company and give it away. I did not build this company just to let you and your careless character spoil it."
"The company you gave me is down the road, Dad. This is mine. I built it myself, everything I have is to and for the glory of my mum, okay? I built this company and I would not let your greed ruin it."
I stand up, walking towards him. I bend by his chair, staring him in the eye.
"You forget how the game works, Dad, but let me remind you. You can't harm me. Because you have your second wife, who you care about, and it's so unfortunate that she has not given birth."
I smooth his shoulders with a smile on my face. "Me? I have no one. Thanks to you. So the next time you want to threaten me, think twice, do you hear me?" I ask.
He stands up, his eyebrows furrowed, beads of sweat on his head.
He picks up the agreement from the table and spares a quick glance at me. "You will regret this."
"I already regret one thing, Dad. And that is you." I step aside and watch him walk away.
As soon as he slams the door behind him, I push the chair he sat in, picking it up and throwing it at the wall.
The ingrate always has a way of getting on my last nerve.
I have already promised myself that I would never get married, and when I want to have kids, that's it, if I ever want to. It would be on my own terms.
Me. Deciding. Not the other way round.
My phone rings, disrupting my thoughts.
I stare at the name. "Doctor Cruz."
"Why are you calling me at this time? I thought I gave you a specific time to call me."
He clears his throat. "Can we have a meeting. A quick meeting, as soon as possible. It's urgent."
I look at the wall clock. It's 12am. There is time.
"Okay, I would be on my way."
Maybe discussing whatever he wants to discuss would help me get over my dad's annoying visit.
The drive to the hospital was quick. Music blasting loudly out of my speakers to make sure I get over my dad's visit.
As soon as I got into the hospital, a certain kind of cold enveloped me. Like there was an impending doom waiting for me.
The receptionist smiled at me, a tight one. Not the flirty kind she usually gave me when I walked in.
The walls of the hospital made my stomach tight, like a knot tied within my heart.
Babies.
Everywhere. Smiling, inspirational quotes about having children filled the walls.
Every parent deserves a child.
Well, good luck, at least I am never going to get married.
I walked towards Dr. Cruz's office. He was standing behind his chair, his face tight, skin white.
A young girl with blue eyes and pink hair, wearing shorts and a top, sat at the edge of the room.
Our eyes met instantly. She glared at me like I was the devil that had visited her life.
"Do I know you?" I ask, trying to wear my nice shoes.
She shrugged, rolling her eyes. "Do I know you?"
I nod slowly. Okay, she has an attitude.
Interesting.
Dr. Cruz clears his throat, drawing my attention back to him.
"Please sit."
I glance at the chair and then at him, the way he is avoiding my eyes, the way he has been repeatedly tapping his chair.
I know there is something wrong.
"I prefer to stand."
The blue-eyed girl rolled her eyes, kissing her teeth as she stood up from her chair and went to the chair that Dr. Cruz had pointed at.
I shrugged her mannerisms off. I just need to get the meeting over with and get back to what I have at hand.
"Why am I here and why is she here when you called me?"
He looked at her and then at me. "Mr. Derek, there was some complications."
I paused. "What?"
"Yes. This lady here was supposed to take the sperm of a couple, and it was mixed with yours. Both of them were kept in the tier A place, made specially for your class. But the nurse gave me the wrong one."
I shrug even though my heart is racing and I am trying to understand the words being thrown at me without getting angry or snapping at him.
Maybe I would be overreacting.
Maybe it's something that can be fixed.
"So…"
"I just wanted you to know. But we are not sure if she would be pregnant and…"
"Wait, did you just say she could get pregnant? That she—" I snapped, pointing at her, "would be carrying my child. What kind of mistake is that. Do you know what would happen to me, to my reputation. Do you even know who I am and…"
"You are not Beyoncé. So shut the hell up and let him speak!" she snapped.
I stare at her, opening my mouth to say something and closing it.
I pace round the hospital room, like the walls were silently closing in behind me.
My skin itching with irritation, anger crawling and rushing through my blood.
I wanted to scatter something.
Hit something.
Scream at her, even if.
But it would be unreasonable. After all, she was not to be blamed for this situation, but gosh, she had a sharp mouth.
And I seriously hated people who can't read the room and shut the f**k up.
And now she is carrying my child.
Ahh!
I turned my attention to Cruz. "I could sue you, you know that, right? What kind of negligence is that. I asked you to keep it for me, I pay you money every single time to get it going and you give my sperm to her?" I ask.
My eyes land on her and I size her up. From her shiny, too-bright pink hair, to her lashes, and her shorts, to her old, worn shoes.
No.
She can't have my child.
That is something I would not want to happen.
I look at him. "If we find out that she is pregnant, we are removing the baby."
"Yes, we can…"
"No!" she interrupts him, she stands up, turns to look at me. "No. I am not having an abortion. And if I am to, you would pay me my seven thousand dollars."
I glare at her back even though I have no f*****g idea what she is saying.
"There is no way I would spend a dime on you. And you are removing this baby!"
"No!"
"Yes!" she snapped back. "I am not having this child and that is final."
I snort. "You don't want to play with me. It would be deadly."
She takes a step forward, meeting my eyes, stretching her feet to make herself taller. "And like I said, I don't give a bloody fuck.”
