I pull the door open as quietly as I can and close it with a soft click. I make my way to the staircase with light steps and a tiny squeak escapes me when I look up.
Lukas is standing at the very top of the staircase and from the look on his face, I can tell that he is mad about something. I'm caught red handed, caught right in the act, I can't even get out of this one.
“Where are you coming from?” He asks as I begin to climb up the stairs.
“I went out for a little walk.” I reply hoping that he would believe me.
“A walk where?” He asks again.
I paused right before him on the stairs, craning my neck to look up at him.
“I went out for fresh air, Lukas. Why all these questions?” I throw back at him and walk past him.
I don't hear him following me so I let out a sigh of relief. I
