“f**k…fuck.” I put her back in her highchair and Kai joins her crying, the both of them wailing loudly.
Lukas chooses that moment to walk in.
His eyes go to them immediately, then he turns to me. “Heyy baby,” he says, and moves to stand before Regina and Kai.
“And why do you two want to cry off the roof?” he chuckles but I pull open Regina's mouth for him.
“Lukas, I …I was feeding them and I saw their tongues turned purple.”
His jaw hardens and he checks Regina and then Kai.
“What did you feed them, Jade? What's wrong with them?!” Lukas yells, all the questions ricochets in my head, and the dawning horror makes my blood run cold.
“I don't know…I was feeding them just now and they were fine but Gina started to cry and-and…”
