"Bakit naman naisip ni Kuya Richard na sa hotel tayo pupunta? May bahay naman ako, may bahay ka, bakit sa hotel pa?" Taka kong tanong habang naka-upo sa shotgun seat ng sasakyan ni Ezekiel.
Narinig ko itong tumawa habang nagmamaneho kaya agad akong napalingon sa kaniya at napakunot ang aking noo.
"Anong nakakatawa?" Tanong ko habang nakasimangot. Nilingon niya ako ng ilang segundo bago humagalpak ng tawa.
Hala, lasing siguro 'to!
"Hoy! Lasing ka ba?! Baka mabangga tayo! 'Wag kang tawa nang tawa! Gusto ko pa mabuhay! I still have lots of dream to achieve in life! I don't want to die at such young age!!" Ani ko at muli siyang humaglpak ng tawa..
Oh Lord, oh God, every Saint out there. Please do guide us in this middle of drive, please don't take back the life you let us have.
"Hoy! Nakakatakot kana ha! Hindi ka sumasagot! Tawa ka lang ng tawa! Hindi na nakakatuwa!" Pagmamaktol ko, gusto ko siyang hampasin sa braso o balikat. Pero na-alala ko na baka mas ika-aksidente namin 'yon.
Napasimangot ako bago sumandal sa sandalan ng aking upuan, pinag-cross ang aking nga braso at sumimangot.
Ilang minuto kaming nabalot ng katahimikan, hindi ko pa rin alam kung saan kami pupunta. Bahala na, edi kidnapin niya ako kung gusto niya. Manghingi siya ng pera sa magulang ko kung gusto niya. Mapunta siya sa impyerno kung gusto niya. Wala akong pake.
Agad akong napalingon sa gawi ni Ezekiel nang marinig ko itong humagikhik.
"Bakit?" Taka kong tanong, halos magsalubong na ang aking nga kilay sa pagkakunot ng aking noo.
"Ang... ang cute mo pala kapag lasing." He said while laughing, my eyes widened and my jaw dropped.
"Hindi ako lasing! Ikaw ang lasing! Kanina ka pa tawa nang tawa dyan e wala naman nakakatawa!" I exclaimed before once again leaning on the chair rest and pouting.
"Angel you're drunk, see, you're acting... childish. You've been pouting and frowning the whole time. Oh gosh, that cocktail probably has a lot of alcohol." He said and I pouted.
"Hindi ah! Its not kaya! It doesn't have much alcohol! I had 3 glasses nga pero hindi ako lasing." I said and he look at me with shocked expression before looking back on the road.
"3?! Angel... Angel mahilig pumunta si Rafael ng iba't ibang bansa and that includes Korea. Angel may Soju yung cocktail na ininom mo. Its not usual alcoholic drink here in the Philippines. Angel mataas ang alcohol content ng Soju that's why you got drunk a bit." He explained and my brows furrowed.
"Huh? What's that?" I confusedly ask. He chuckled and shake his head.
"Its alcohol, ganun ang madalas iniinom ni Rafael aside whiskey and wines. It has high alcohol content so malalasing ka talaga sa cocktail lang. That cocktail is so wrong, dapat hindi ganun ang alcohol na andon." He said and I slowly nod.
"Oo nga..." I mumbled before leaning at the window of his car.
Soon the car stopped, I look outside and saw beautiful dancing fountains that made me gasp in air.
"Ezekiel that's so pretty! I wanna see it!" I exclaimed, I hear him chuckle before getting out of his car and walking at my side to open the door for me. As I went out his car, I immediately hear the soft music, coming by the dancing fountain area.
"Where are we?" I ask as I watch the fountains dance to the flow of music.
"Angel... this is Rizal Park, you've never been here?" He asked, I look around and realized it is Rizal Park.
I chuckled, "I know this place, nalimutan ko lang." I said and I hear him chuckle.
"We really need you to get sober up. Let's grab coffee after this." He said and I slowly nod as I lean on a hard concrete, afar from the fountains.
"Woah! Ezekiel look!" I said as I point at the red fountain that goes up high in the sky.
"Ezekiel! Ezekiel! Look!" I said, holding onto his shoulders while pointing at the fountains.
"Oh my God! Ezekiel this is so beautiful!!" I exclaimed, almost shouting. Well I already am. But there's only few people here. They are even far from us that's why I have no problem in shouting here like a little girl.
"I know Angel, that's why I brought you here. I know you will like the fountains." He said and I slowly nod.
I once again focused my attention to the fountains, this time an upbeat song came in. Making me nod my head to the rhythm and tap my feet on the ground.
"Another one bites the dust~" I sing along to the old song that I know since I was a kid.
"Angel I want to say sorry for ruining the first party you attended." He suddenly said, making my head snap at his side.
"What do you mean?" I confusedly ask, he lean on the hard concrete.
"I'm sorry that you felt you're left out. It's my fault that's why that happened. I should have entertained you more." He said and my brows furrowed.
"Hindi naman ah, I had fun kaya! I was able to drink and eat!" I said and he chuckled.
"I wish all people is as humble and nice as you." He said and I tilt my head.
"Why?" I confusedly asked,
He shake his head, "Wala, wala, just enjoy the fountains." He said and I slowly nod.
I continue to watch the fountains but there seems like there's some questions I want to ask him. About his friends, kuya Rapha, Kuya Richard, Syl and Iyo.
"Friends ba sila kuya Richard kay kuya Syl at Iyo?" I suddenly asked, he look at me and slowly nod.
"He is, why?" He replied, I bit lower lip and shrug.
"Wala naman... its just... bakit wala si kuya Richard nung una? Bakit nung pahuli ko nalang siya nakita?" I asked, being curious about them. I don't usually ask questions about other people's life, but I'm just curious about them.
I hear him sigh, "Well... kasi... lets say Rapha and Richard are very opposite twins. One... is very careful in his life, while the other is careless." He said and I slowly nod.
"I guess I shouldn't have asked." I said and I hear him giggle.
"Its fine, we all get curious sometimes." He said and I slowly nod.
"Pero kuya Richard is nice diba?" I asked and he nod.
"Sobra... he's not the type of brother na aasarin ka hanggang sa mag-away kayo. Richard is not like that. He's very silent and introvert, that's why nung una I thought he doesn't like me as a friend, or he's rude. But turns out, he's nice, he just doesn't want to show it." He said and I slowly nod.
"While kuya Rapha is... the opposite?" I asked,
"Its Raffy actually, Rafael, Raffy, Rapha, he's fine with anything, sometimes we call him Raffy, before we always call him that. Ngayon lang kami nag Rapha sa kaniya. But he's not really the opposite of Richard, or Chad, or Rich, he's also nice, but not introvert and silent. He's always at parties, at other countries just to party. He's more of a mature version of Ace na mahilig din mag party." He explained and I slowly nod.
That's a bit confusing, I shouldn't have asked. I shouldn't have kept my curiosity take over me.
"But why don't you address them as kuya?" I asked once again.
I'm indeed drunk, I wont act like this if I'm not. Minsan lang naman eh. Minsan lang ako malasing. Pero hindi minsan lang laging matanong.
He chuckled, "Hindi na kailangan, I met them when I was 7th grade, Syl and Iyo at 10th grade. I once called them kuya, but they laugh at me and Raffy and Syl even pretend to beat me up for making them look like old." He said and I slowly nod.
That's it, I wont ask anymore. I've been too curious for this night. That I had to ask about other people's life.
"Angel... Angel I want to confess something." He said and I look at him confusedly.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Angel... what if I tell you I like you?" He asked and my brows furrowed.
"I like you rin naman ah! As a person." I said and I he chuckled.
"No, I mean, I like you... romantically." He said and my jaw dropped.
No one have confessed to me like this before. Though there were some flowers at my lockers in high school but I throw them away. There were some chocolates that I ate since I don't want to throw it and waste it. But this.. none.
"I... Its fine I guess." I hesitantly said, my heartbeat getting faster and faster.
He slowly nod before looking straight to my eyes.
"Can I... can I court you?" He said and my eyes widened.
"H-Ha? Diba... diba ano... bata pa tayo?" I asked and he chuckled.
"We are 23 Angel... you still consider that as kid?" He asked and I bit my lower lip.
I slowly nod, "Okay... you can court me, but... lets not do it in public. Let's just keep it to the two of us." I said and he look at me confusedly first before nodding.
"Sure sure, I understand why. But thank you, I'll do my best and show you what I've been wanting to show you." He said and I smiled.
"For now, lets grab coffee so you'll be completely sober." He said and I nod, we went back to his car, drive to the nearest Starbucks. We bought two Caffè Americano since he also wanted to get sober up. We bought some foods in the near convenience store and we even laughed at ourselves.
"Ang dami-daming pagkain sa party kanina eh." He said while munching on his hotdogs sandwich.
"Kahit na, CVS foods taste nice." I said and he chuckled.
"Don't worry, starting now, I'll spoil you more of foods." He said and I immediately get it why.
I nod while munching on my hotdogs sandwich too, "You better be."
