Ion walks into the dark hallway as the only source of light are from the entrance door. The more he walks away from the lighted area, the darker it gets into the hallway, something he doesn't want to see. Why?
He's afraid of the dark, or what they call Nyctophobia. This phobia is an extreme fear of night or dark that can cause intense symptoms and depression. Yet, he counts himself lucky now that, for some reason, he doesn't feel that scared anymore comparing to how he would shiver when he's seven years old. Although he's not alone walking since someone is exciting him back on his supposed cell, Ion thinks he had this courage to meet darkness because he had someones to accompany him. And this is his source of strength.
