One of the things I've wished for when we moved in is "ACCEPTANCE." I mean, who wouldn't want that.
As a Filipino kid, my parents taught me that the most valuable trait one could possess aside from embodying culture is acknowledging differences and using them as a bridge rather than a wall. At an early age, they already made me fully aware that we are living in a very diverse society, and all we could do about it is that, rather than preventing, we have to show them hospitality and respect as that they would do the same. Just like the folder rule itself, "Do not do unto others what you don't want others will do unto you, " but then, ever since we moved here, I only realize one thing: the GOLDEN RULE never matters.
