"Careful! Careful, now" - he repeated with each of my steps, since the moment I got out of that damn car. I felt a wave of rage and misery raising up in my very core, but I swallowed my feelings and kept moving.
My body screamed in pain, and I couldn't help but growled. The doctors told me that it was too soon, and I had not healed properly yet, but I needed to get to my son.
'Are you okay?" - he touched my shoulder as I folded in two. His concern felt like acid in my throat.
I didn't have enough energy to reply to him, so I just forced myself to nod, and with a titanic effort, I took other steps.
