Second mission

On this mission, everyone would join to loot since there was a lot more cargo this time compared to last time. Well, everyone except Sylas would join since he had to keep an eye on the security cameras as well as hack into the other ship’s system which none of us could do.   Tristen was very specific about this being expensive and such. I was getting ready, putting on one of my newer clothes that made me feel like a badass pirate with a long dark brown coat and boots. I was also wearing a light pink buttoned-up shirt and put hair clips in my hair to keep it out of my face. Looking myself in the mirror and making a small twirl I gave myself a nod and went out of my room.  I saw Zayn out in the hallway who gave me a thumbs up over my outfit. It made me feel even more confident and pretty. The others were wearing similar clothes to what they usually do. Zayn wearing form-fitting shirts, Valerie wearing leather skirts and Tristen wearing coats and buttoned shirts.  “From what Sylas saw, the ship has weapons inside. This means two things, Zayn can finally find a weapon that will be with him for probably the rest of his life. But it also means we can get in trouble if we are not careful. Got it? So first we have to neutralize the enemies on the ship then we can loot in peace.” Everyone agreed. Time was ticking as we got closer to the other cargo ship. It seemed to be a ship from Vabone who are known for their minerals used for drugs and medicine. Vabone is also where Zayn is from. I could see how his face looked at the ship with familiar eyes, filled with bittersweet memories.  I held onto my whip tightly as we went to the other ship which smelled like chemicals. They probably just did a thorough cleaning around the ship to protect the minerals and to get rid of the smell.  “Valerie and I will go ahead and do a clean sweep around the ship. The two of you can start packing the s**t onto the ship.” Tristen and Valerie soon left and it was just me and Zayn left. We didn’t waste any time and started immediately. The silence however was deadly and I struggled to find a question I could ask or any conversation topic.  “So… Um. Tristen said you might finally get a weapon? How come you haven’t gotten one yet?” Zayn kept carrying and walked inside our ship then laid it down then he returned and sighed.  “According to Tristen, you shouldn’t just accept any weapon. It can just disappear from your grasp and you’d have to keep finding a new one. If you wait until that special weapon comes, it’s yours forever. It’s like the weapon chooses you.” He explained before picking up another cart and I quickly followed him.  “Is that so? So, Valerie has guns she can summon, Tristen a blood sword. Does Sylas have anything?” “Gauntlets. Sariel and Ansiel are what he named them. Similar to how Valerie named hers.” I looked down at my whip. It would mean that I should also be able to summon my weapon and that I wouldn’t be able to lose it.  “I’m just afraid that no weapon has chosen me, which would mean none of them deems me worthy enough.” A hint of sadness was shown on his face but he tried hiding by continuing with his job. I felt slightly guilty. I recently just joined and received my weapon on the first day… While Zayn doesn’t have one and seems to have been with the crew for a while. We continued in silence.  It took a while, Zayn and I were still nowhere finished. It was worrying that Valerie and Tristen hadn't returned yet either.  “Do you think something happened to them?” I stopped in my tracks and sighed, worry already spreading rapidly.  “I’m sure they are fine. They probably found something dumb to play with and got distracted, knowing those two just to avoid doing hard labour.” He rolled his eyes and sat down shaking his head disappointedly.  “I’ll go look for them then.” “Just say we are almost finished. Don’t say we need more help because they won’t come then.” Nodding I walked towards where I thought the cockpit was. But the ship was much larger than our own and there were endless hallways everywhere.  “Guys!”  I called out to them but got no reply. Eventually, I got lost. It didn’t matter if I went left or right, it just felt like I was going in circles. Looking out the windows didn’t help much either. It was space, with tons of stars. All the same. No way I can navigate through that. Except… I did notice something out of the ordinary. Taking a closer look I saw it was a small ship. That would probably be able to fit two people max. Does that mean that the people on this cargo ship expected company? But they shouldn’t… We didn’t get any information about that. Only we are supposed to know the coordinates of the ship. Quickly turning away from the window my eyes met with vivid purple ones.  “Hello cutie~” Her voice was like a sweet melody, I could feel how she was already wrapping me into her web. Her teeth were sharp, her skin was blue with purple and green scales. From the way she was dressed, I had to guess she was a bounty hunter. Simple pants, a shirt and a jacket. Practical and comfortable for moving around a lot. As well as having many pockets.  She smirked as she pulled out a sword, a neon purple sword that looked similar in style to her whip. My hand carefully moved to my whip which she seemed to notice and pointed the sword at me.  “I would never have guessed that a cute face like yours would be such a criminal. But as they say, don’t judge a book by its cover.” Her smirk got wider while I just laughed at her comment nervously.  “You know, I’m a little busy right now. Could we do this next week Tuesday instead? I’d appreciate it!” She laughed which echoed through the halls. Even her laugh was incredibly glamorous. I took my chance to back away but she quickly returned and the sharp edge of the sword only got closer to my throat.  “You remind me of a cute little fish back from home. But sorry, my schedule is so tight that I can’t rearrange it, even for you.” Her grip around the sword tightened and her smirk disappeared. I was beginning to sweat, hoping someone would find her soon. I would rather avoid being captured and tortured, no matter how glamorous or gorgeous my captive might be.  “That’s a bummer… I was hoping we could work something out. Guess we’ll have to compromise somehow.” From the shadows, I saw Zayn sneaking closer behind the woman who didn’t seem to notice anything. Her playful smile slowly returned.  “Why don’t you follow me then into that small little ship then. We can have a talk while I get paid, you get to sit in prison. But don’t worry. I’ll come and visit if you are afraid to be lonely.” Her tone was mocking and her eyes just had that glint of mischievousness.  “Very generous offer. But I’m afraid I have to decline. I still have some work I want to get done and sitting in prison was not in my plans.”  “Sometimes you have to be spontaneous when things don't go as planned~” She purred. Zayn was behind her at this point, two guns pointed at her back.  “Don’t move” He said and the woman’s eyes widened a bit, her smile disappearing. Then she made a small shrug, her smile returning ever so slightly.  “Clever little girl aren’t you? But this isn’t your victory yet…” She smirked as footsteps were heard. Turning around I saw Valerie and Tristen coming closer with a tall geadian behind them. He was holding a neon blue scythe with ribbons on it.  “So sweetheart, how about my offer now?”
