Chapter 1

"Aleandra!"

"s**t!" Aleandra cursed, opening her eyes and sitting up in bed. "Coming Mama!"

Celeste slid from the warmth and walked to the bathroom. She splashed water on her face to wash the sleep from her eyes and finished the normal morning ritual. She walked to the kitchen and sat at the bar, looking at her mother.

"We have some time this morning before training, Cellie." Her mother said, as she cooked breakfast, without glancing at her. "I'd like for you to study and practice your magic for two hours before you teach the new pups the basics. Your father thinks this bunch are going to do great things, possibly even join the Royal Guard when they are older!"

Celeste rolled her eyes, "Dad says that about every new batch of pups."

"Well, honey, this time they are going to be trained by you." She replied as she placed a loaded plate in front of Celeste.

Celeste's eyes widened, "WHAT?! Are you serious?! I've been begging dad for freaking ages!" She hopped up and did an impromptu booty wiggle.

"Yes, baby, you finally get your chance." Her mom laughed. "With your father training the Elites, the Juniors and the Freshmen. Not to mention all his other duties, he doesn't have the wolves available to teach the pups. And don't get me started on the Royal Mating Ball next month. You have thirty days to get the pups to move up to Freshmen status."

Celeste stopped dancing. "The Royal Mating Ball? That hasn't happened in over a hundred years! Why now? Why is happening next month? When was this announced?"

"Cellie, it was just posted this morning to the Alpha Network. Every Alpha has to attend along with all unmated females from each pack. You might find your mate. Even though you turn if age next week, your father and I know you have your wolf. I still can't understand why she showed up so early though."

"Mom, she won't tell me, she won't even give me her real name... I don't know why she just wants to be called Moon. She just says that all will be revealed soon."

Moon had perked up at the mention of the Ball, "Yes Celeste, you will know soon all about me and I think you have another surprise coming as well. I hope you will understand that I never meant to hurt you by keeping secrets. I chose you above all others. You are special and together we will be the greatest pair to walk the lands. You will be a great leader in dark times ahead, child."

Cellie frowned, "Dark times? What is going on, Moon?"

"All will be revealed in due time. Just train yourself and those pups as much as possible." Moon spoke softly then retreated to the back of her mind.

"Cel, what is it sweetheart?"

"Mom, something is coming. Moon told me she will reveal herself soon, and that there are dark times coming. She said I must train myself and the pups as much as possible."

Her mother started washing the dishes, "Then you better get started, Ari is restless as well. I have been feeling a shift in our world as well. We must be ready for anything. Hurry up and eat then get busy. I will link your father and let him know what Moon told us."
