CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Adriana's pov:

I groaned when the light hit on my face. I snuggled closer, to  hide my eyes from the light.

"Good morning." I heard.

"Good morning." I said, yawning and then smiling. 

I opened my eyes, I looked up to see David looking down at me and smiling.

Then I realized what position I was in.

His hands were wrapped around me, and my hands were wrapped around him. My nose was at the crook of his neck.  My legs were between his. My eyes widened. What the hell? How?

"I really like to stay with you here,  but it's late and I have important work to do. We will talk after I came back from my shower. " He said while he was standing up.

My eyes widened at my sight. He was only wearing a pair of shorts. I trailed my eyes from top to bottom, gaping. Ohh...God that sight started to create inappropriate thoughts in my mind.

He chuckled,seeing me like that, going to a door probably the bathroom. He stopped and turned his head.

"Stay here." He commanded.

That made me, crashing from the daze. How dare he say to me like that? Did he thought that I was his servant or something to order me around that?

Last night also he did that after he tried to bit me. And how dare he sleep with me on the same bed?  Just because he saved me doesn't mean that he can do whatever he wants. And I saved him too. I started to grit my teeth.

My thoughts were interrupted by the chiming of my phone. I looked around, to see were it came from.

 it was from the jacket that was hung on the chair near the bed. I took it, it was from Max.

"Hey Max," I said turning when I heard the sound of water splashing.

"Hey, Ria, I am so sorry but I will be little bit late. Probably ten minutes. Something came up. Wait for me, okay?"

"Yeah... No problem."  I said frowning. What is he speaking? 

" Okay. Bye. I will see you at the cafe."  He said. Relief evident in his tone.

"Okay."  I said.  Then I remembered, our meet up. What time is it?  I looked at the phone. It was half past nine. I gasped.

Ohh.. s**t.  I hurried to take my jacket and looked for my boots. It was near the bed. I wore it and went for the bedroom door.

I took a taxi to my apartment. Since he will be a little late, so I can take my time.

And when I meet him I can ask the questions that I was dreading to ask.

And I need sometime to think about what the heck happened to me last night. I never in my life, well my past life, felt that way. I always was cool and composed but with David Williams, I loose my mind. And why the hell did I kissed him? Why did I do that? I should keep my distance from him. I shouldn't feel like this. That made me think about yesterday's incidents.

Ron ordered the man-wolf to kill Williams, So Ron knew about these wolf thingy. And he knew that Williams is a wolf too. But why did he tried to kill Williams? What is his connection to the wolves? Is he a wolf too? Since the guy who shot me saw me clearly killing his people , Ron must have got the news about me by now. Now he easily knew who shot him. Shit... And there is David Williams, he will also have suspicions about me, like what the hell was I doing there at night, how I knew the moves and skills. He must have done the research on me by now.

I f*****g screwed up everything. Thanks to my stupid heart.

I winced at the slight pain at the nape of my neck. It started from yesterday, after our kiss.The pain, it was little bit intense, there was heat too. The pills made me forget it. Then again I felt it in my sleep.It was also after he kissed me. I was so sleepy that I was half aware. Yeh...  he kissed on the nape of my neck and cuddled me from behind. I was feeling so sleepy that I didn't fight but I felt safe and secure in his arms. There... I go again. I should stop thinking about him. I should focus on my plan. I let out a sigh.

The cab came to the a stop, I ran towards my apartment after giving the cab fare. I have to do everything fastly.

I entered into the cafe and sat at our usual place.

I felt relieved, because I came first before him.

I heard my name being called, I turned to the direction of the sound. Max, smiled and waved, I did the same.

He was making his way to me.

He was wearing a black  jeans and a black and white stripped T- shirt and a dark blue jacket. His hair was messed,  in a cute kind of a way.

"I am so sorry, Ria, But it was kind of urgent matter." He said while sitting.

"Doesn't matter. " I said smiling.

We talked about a lot of things, I was laughing so hard that my eyes was tearing. We were sipping our lattes when I asked him.

"Were your company's problem solved?

Mr. Nolan?  "                                                                      

He stopped his sipping and looked at me. His eyes wide. I arched my brow. He chuckled and leaned towards me. My brows furrowed at his chuckling.

"I knew you would find out who I was. But I want to tell you before that " he said his smile faded at that.

"I know,  you must be thinking why a man, like me working in your company.

The truth is I came to your company, because I wanted to have some experience in business and everything.

My dad was deciding to give his branch in here. He said I had to work my way up. " he said.

I kept my expression neutral.

He sighed. " I know it's hard to believe, but trust me. I was only trying to get to know how a company works. " he said.

I kept my eyes on him, trying to figure out, whether he was lying or not. His body language showed me that he was not telling lies.

I took the cup to sip my latte. His eyes, following my actions.

"Okay. " I said. "But you have to tell dad about this matter. " I said.

He blew a breath of relief and nodded.

But still I was not believing him.

Rule number one of the world that I lived was, Trust no one.

It was already noon, when I reached my apartment building. My car was in the forest, so Max dropped me at my building.

I lied that my car broke down. I was walking towards my apartment, making a mental note to take my car from the forest. The elevator dinged and I walked out.

My breath hitched at his sight. There stood the oh! so! David Williams , leaning his back towards the wall, his hands folded on  his chest. He was wearing a navy blue suit, that clung to his body,  defining his broad shoulders and bicep muscles. The colour of the suit  highlighted his features more. His brown eyes, long nose. Ohh.. God his lips... That made me think about our kiss last night. His lips devouring mine like an hungry wolf... Well.. He is a wolf. The way his hands trailed on my body. How he picked me up and carried me to his bed, he held me like I was fragile. Heat started to creep towards my cheeks. Oh... God..

He stood straight,when he saw me, his hands still folded on his chest. His eyes strained on me. His intense gaze, itself, made butterflies in my stomach.

What the hell was I thinking, I should not think thoughts like that. I hate him, for making me think and feel these kinds of things.

I slowly moved towards him. He was still staring at me. I gave a awkward smile. I came near the door of my apartment.

"Well,  Had fun?"he asked, anger in his voice.

My brows furrowed. No wonder I felt someone was watching me. So it was him.

I didn't reply and opened the door. Before I knew what was happening, I was slammed against wall near the door inside my apartment. I looked up to see him, our  faces inches away. I  felt the sparks again. Coursing through me. I inhaled deeply.

"I forbid you to talk to any men and when I say to stay, f*****g stay! " He yelled, pulling me to him, harshly.

His noses where flaring. His skin red.

My blood started to boil, making me to forget  the pain from the wound.

"Excuse me?  Well, I do apologize for leaving without saying. But who the hell are you to forbid me?" I shouted.

"I have the f*****g right, because you are mine! " he shouted back.

My brows furrowed.

"I am not f*****g yours or anybody else's! You... " before I could say anything, his lips crashed to mine, devouring me. My eyes widened at the intense electricity passed through my body.His lips moved against mine. I sighed in content as it was something that I was waiting for. My lips moved against his. He nibbled on my lower lip, asking for entrance. I opened and at the instant his tongue started to explore inside me,  fireworks exploded in me. I don't know what happened to me, but his touches made me want more, his touches made me forget everything, the only thing that I care about is him and his touches.He pulled me closer to him,leaving no air pass between us. One hand encircled me, other hand at the back of my neck holding me possessively. My hands rested at his firm chest. His heat was making me uncontrollable.

I pushed him away from me.

"Hey, you can't do... " I stopped at midway. His eyes were getting darker and darker, just like yesterday. Fear started creeping into my mind. The wolf thing rushed into my mind. Yesterday I didn't felt fear and I even killed the wolves, I don't know what happened to me that time, but my body was already moving before I could think. But now seeing him, I lost all my courage.

I shouldn't have done that. I shouldn't have interfered in the fight. Since I knew his secret, he will definitely try to kill me or plan to hurt me. I was grossed in thinking, I didn't knew he closed our distance. He hugged me and moved his head towards my neck. I was going to attack him. But he stood there and inhaled deeply.  what waspp he doing?

"Adriana, when I tell you something not to do, DO NOT do it. I don't like it, when people don't obey me. You can't reject me or my words. You got it? " He asked standing straight, his hands on my shoulders. His eyes were back to brown again.

"And you are coming with me, we have lot to talk." He said while grabbing my wrist and opening the door. He pulled me outside and started walking. His hand covered  my whole wrist. I looked at where our hands joined. Again I felt sparks.

"Hey! " I shouted trying to pull my hand and succeeded.

" We have nothing to talk about. "  I said.

He turned around to face me, it was so fast I was startled.

"Mr. Williams, What happened last night was a mistake. I shouldn't have interfered in your business. I apologize for that. I will forget about everything that happened. It's best for us, if we parted from here. Don't worry your secret is safe with me. Ciao adios! " I said.

I should stay away from him. Things are getting complicated. I was turning to move to my apartment, but his words stopped me.

"Oh! We caught the man who shot you yesterday. I was just trying to fulfill his last wish, which was to see you. He wanted to talk to you. I don't know what the hell he had to do with you"

"What? He said he wanted to see me? " I asked facing him. Why? Does he knew about my secret?I heard he was ordering other men to get him, he got him this fast? Since he got caught, Ron wouldn't know about me. So on Ron's side I am safe.

I narrowed my eyes at him.

Like he understood my suspicion, he took the phone, tapped and pushed it to me. It showed, man tied to a chair, dry blood on him. It was the man, who shot me.

"Ahhh...  Since you don't want to go, then I am going back. " he said. He slipped his phone into his jacket and walked into the elevator. He pressed on the button.

He grinned at me.

I ran and stood beside him before the doors got closed. He was surprised. Even I was surprised, I didn't knew that I had that much speed. I looked at him.The doors closed and box started to moved down. His surprise was  replaced by smirk.

He thought he had won. Huh.. What a jerk. I was willing to go with him, because if I see that man, I can get more info about Ron and his connections. I took a deep breath. Going with Williams  is like walking to the lion's den. I knew it was a trap but to get info from that guy I have to do this. I have to be careful around him and after this, I have to stay away from him. Since the business deal will close tomorrow, I don't want to meet him any more, father will handle it.  I again sighed. Let's see what will happen.
