Kamui stood beside Kaen, his eyes like shimmering stardust under his bangs. He raised his chin in defiance of Toya’s confusion. “Don’t you see? You’d never hurt Kyoko.” His eyes glistened as he yelled, “You love her! We all love her and should’ve been here to help you protect her the last time… this time.”
Kotaro watched the blades of the daggers flash multicolor as Kamui moved closer to Toya and Kyoko. Narrowing his eyes in understanding, Kotaro realized Toya’s strength came from protecting the ones he loved. With a smirk, he added. “And Kyoko loves you, so let’s beat this thing before it kills us all. Together this time.”
The intense flash of blue blinded Kyoko making her tear her gaze away from Kyou. Above her, Toya held the torch bright twin daggers. She watched the glow shattering
