His body began to shake against her. "Please Kyoko, please believe me. I'm telling the truth. I would never hurt you."
Kyoko was shocked. She couldn't see him but she could tell. Toya was crying. She could feel his body trembling as they stood there in silence. In a way… what he said almost made some kind of sense but still, she had to have proof.
"Toya, you can let go of me now." She waited and he didn’t release her. "Please, just let me go. We both know I can’t outrun you."
Toya didn’t want to. He didn’t want to ever let her go but he knew she had heard some of what he said and he also knew she could not escape him even if she tried. Reluctantly, he lowered his arms. "You know I’d never hurt you. Tell me you know that."
