Alana had closed her eyes and drifted slowly to a light peaceful slumber when there was a knock on the bathroom door. She sat up making sure she was covered as the door began to open. The same chamber maid came walking in with a fresh pair of clothes for Alana. "Miss, it is just me. I brought you your clothes. Did you need me to help you wash?"
"Oh no, I can do it. Thank you for everything. What is your name?"
The chamber maid looked in shock at Alana. No one usually asked her for her name. Most just treated her like a servant and dismissed her like one as well. She smiled briefly at Alana. "No one has ever cared to know my name before. It is Rose. Queen Avaly brought me here when I was a kid and has taken care of me ever since. I like it here but sometimes the guests are not the best.
