Chapter 5

.: HOLLOWS EVE CHAPTER 5 :.

3rd Person

So now we return to the world of the hollows, Purgatory. Where the moonshine is forever lasting, the haunting presence of ghastly creatures that just barely cross the line between good and evil looms at every corner, and where the demons can roam freely on the fault line between heaven and hell itself.

The moon began to get dark and the sky began to grow even darker as the presence of a great evil filled the air with its loathsome stink, letting you know that it wasn't just the blood stained walls from the Jikininki demon's rampage. The entire town of Nightmare stood still as an evil presence loomed over it the entire time, watching and observing the skills of The Grim Reaper known as the beautiful, young 16-year old Kaila Amiyuki.

And now as Kaila had slayed the demon, with her hands still shaking, the figure began to approach her wearing a large red robe with a hood hiding his face. He appeared to have pale white skin and fangs that almost looked vampiric in nature.

Kaila had finally figured out the secret to the Reaper Claw…and so early in her time as the Grim Reaper. In order to fully utilize death to its fullest potential, one must accept death and not fear what it can bring. The man in the red rob preyed on Kaila and her vulnerabilities….as he began to jump down from a rooftop he was on….and clap slowly as he walked toward her with her back turned.

Once Kaila had finally turned around….the man had spoken…

"VERY Good! You've finally figured it out. You are definitely the one that I've been searching for. The one that my mistress truly spoke of. It's rather peculiar how you've never been here…..how you're still alive…." The man had said while taking a few more steps before stopping a little ways away from Kaila.

Kaila blinked twice before having a stand-off with the man, unsure of what to do. She just got through one thing that nearly overwhelmed her, now she has to go through another?!

"Who…Who are you?" Kaila uttered out of her mouth, as you could sense the confusion and fear in her voice.

Before answering her question, the man in the red robe took another step, which brought Kaila's guard up and caused her to bring her death scythe forward.

"Stay away from me!" She said in alarm, just from him taking a simple step.

Regardless the man continued taking steps towards her and would not stop. And as he continued to walk slowly towards her, he began to speak again with a calm, but haunting voice.

"Oh you shouldn't worry about who I am sweetheart…..What you should worry about is who YOU are. Hhmhmhmhm…." The man chuckled to himself, causing Kaila to grimace, wondering what he was planning.

"You are indefinitely cute I'll give you that much. It's a shame though….." The man continued to approach Kaila, as his power began to radiate from seemingly out of nowhere. He radiated strong demonic pressure…..stronger than that of the Jikininki demon!

Kaila could do nothing but back away from the man, as his power was far too strong even for her. She could only tremble, as not only was she tired, but….the dreaded feeling of helplessness had come back, as she began to see images and flashes of the nightmares she had about this place beforehand as the man continued to walk towards her.

She eventually saw the man as Lord Death himself, and the gruesome, scary image of his haunting visage flashed back and forth in her eyes just as Kaila was backed into a corner against a wall.

The man in the red robe continued to approach her and licked his lips upon getting a little closer…

"That Jikininki demon died so easily by your hand….it's always a shame when a fellow demon dies. And you look like such a delectable morsel too…..oh well….. When I get done with you…..I'll tell him what you taste like." The man then malevolently chuckled to himself as he crept closer and closer to Kaila.

"I said STAY AWAY FROM ME!" Kaila then swung her scythe with all the might she had left and used the power of the Zetsu Arameshii technique to attack the man. However after the smoke cleared, there was a streak on the ground…..but the man was completely fine.

Kaila was in shock, as her yellow eyes widened in disbelief, wondering how someone could block an attack like that meant to kill demons!

"Oh…..so they've taught you the dreaded Zetsu Arameshii technique?...Hmhmhmhm. Sorry honey. But that won't work on me." He then raised his claws half-way into the air as he continued approaching Kaila.

"S-Stay….Away…..f-from me!...I mean it!" Kaila was trembling again, as he finally got close enough to get her.

"Sorry Reaper Girl…..but I'm looking for blood. Me and my mistress need it…..and yours just happens to be on the menu." His eyes glowed a scary blood red glow as he began to raise his claws high into the air to strike Kaila.

As Kaila braced herself for the worst, she then was saved by a gigantic s***h of energy separating the two of them, as the man in the red robe jumped back and avoided the crescent s***h of energy.

The man then slid and said to himself….. "Well Well Well…it's good to see you again, isn't it? I thought I'd never get to see you again…." Or so it seemed he was saying to himself?

Kaila Was utterly terrified, as the crescent nearly hit her! Almost chopping her in half. But as she began to look up from her cowering state, she looked up from the tip of her hat to see Jack in front of her with his swords raised in the air.

"Sword stream…" Jack was the one who had laid the attack it seems. But why? Why was he attacking the man and saving her life?

"Jack?..." Kaila uttered out of her mouth.

"Stay there….." He said back to her, as he turned to face her, but only slightly just to get a look at her, while not taking his attention off of the man in front of them both.

"I ain't doin' this for you…..So shut up and stay right there." He said to her as Jack turned his attention back to the man. Causing Kaila to look down slightly.

"Funny to see you 'ere….you bloody traitor." Jack said to the man in the red robe with such disdain in his voice.

"What's wrong Jacky?...not happy to see me?" The man said tauntingly.

"Shut the hell up…..Dracula." Kaila's eyes widened, as she had heard the familiar name of the infamous vampire lord of legend. Could it literally be?

The man had pulled down his hood to reveal a black haired man with pale white skin, vampire fangs and red eyes. It was Dracula….. The king of the vampires.

"Oh such disdain Jack-a-boy. Why don't you come over here and we can talk? For old times sake." He said back to Jack. With Jack launching from the spot he stood at, causing the ground to cave and explode behind him, blowing a gust of wind in Kaila's face.

"I'm done talkin'…." With that being said, Jack clashed his swords with Dracula's claws, and the two swung their weapons back and forth so quickly that Kaila couldn't even keep up!

Kaila couldn't believe how fast they were swinging their arms, it almost seemed so quick that they could s***h raindrops out of the air as they fell! But they locked arms & swords once and then Jack was forced back by Dracula.

As Jack flipped and landed right back in the broken up spot he was in before, he then changed his swords to guns and then blasted an orange pumpkin bomb at Dracula.

To which the vampire king caught the bomb with his bare hand and then threw it up into the air, letting out a large explosion above him that cause the wind to blow. Jack angrily stared down his enemy with a deep frown on his face full of malice and hatred. As Dracula responded with a demeaning smirk.

"I'm sorry my old friend….but I think now it's time for me to go I've got all that I need anyway, so we'll meet again soon. OH and Reaper girl? …..Keep that blood warm for me." As Dracula was about to turn away, Kaila got up and yelled at him.

"STOP! WHO ARE YOU?! And what do you want with me?!" She screamed at him, demanding an answer.

Dracula stopped in his tracks, and then gave her an evil smile. "Oh it's not what I want…..it's what my mistress wants. I'm afraid I can't give you that information right now….but what I CAN give you….is my name. Dracula. The King of Vampire demons…..Otherwise known as Bajang demons. Don't worry honey…we'll become very acquainted VERY soon. Hmhmhmhmhm….." His laugh echoed throughout the night as he disappeared without a trace, finally leaving them alone.

Before Kaila could say anything, Amuki came flying in using wings made out of Icy Blue crystalline. "Kaila! Are you alright?!" She flew down to her side and helped her up on her feet fully, as she completely broke down crying once she was in Amuki's arms.

"Kaila….what's wrong? Are you hurt?" She asked generally concerned.

Kaila sobbed hard. Harder than she's ever sobbed in awhile. "Oh Amuki….I was…s-so….scared…. *Sobbing* I've never been so scared in all my life!... *Sobbing*…I don't want to be here anymore! I hate this Job! I hate this so called DESTINY! I just want to go home….." She said with her voice beginning to break.

Amuki held her friend close in comfort, Jack however folded his arms without looking at either of them. "Get used to it Midnight. This is what the grim reaper goes through. You gotta get used to it one way or another. Because this is a fate you can't escape."

Amuki looked at Jack with a little disdain for what he had said to her, believing it to be harsh. "Jack! Don't you think that was a little harsh?!" She said.

"I wouldn't be sayin' it if it wasn't true!" This caused Amuki to Jump back a little while Kaila was still crying in her arms.

"You think I want her to be Grim Reaper?...I don't. But Lord Death chose her. She has no choice. It's not like he's gonna take it away from 'er. The Grim Reaper is a necessary job. So either she suck it up and deal with it…..or accept the fact that she's gonna die in that weak li'le state that she's in now. Those are her only options." Jack said….his harsh words stung Amuki a bit…..

Amuki then looked down at her friend and continued to hold her in her arms. As Jack started to walk off. "C'mon….we ain't got all day. We've got to get back to the castle. Let's go." Jack told them.

Amuki then began to follow Jack and tried to calm Kaila down out of her paranoid state. "It's ok….your safe…..I promise….we wouldn't let anything happen to you….not yet….so please don't cry….we're here." Kaila's sobbing slowly, but surely started to fade….as the two of them followed Jack back home to the castle of nightmares, where Kaila's nightmare was finally about to come to an end…At least for now.

Later on, Kaila was back in the library with Amuki, while Jack was upstairs in the castle taking care of some business with Lord Death. In order to calm her down, Amuki began to make some special tea with added herbal spices and strawberry pomegranate flavor for Kaila.

Amuki stirred the tea in a cauldron and added some special spice that worked as a potion brewing with magic, and then she created a crystalline tea cup for her to drink out of, dipped the cup in the tea and put it on a crystalline plate.

Amuki came back from her potion conjuring room and handed Kaila the tea. "Here, drink this. It'll help to calm your nerves." She said to her.

Kaila did as she asked and then took a big sip, as she finally felt much calmer with the herbal magic doing its job. After finally calming down completely, she sighed and thanked Amuki for the tea. "Thanks Amuki….Wow this tea is great. What's in it?" She asked.

"Not even my mom makes tea this great back home. To be honest I didn't even think they had tea in this crazy place." Kaila said to Amuki, and herself.

"Oh nothing much, just some herbal spices, strawberries, pomegranate and a little witch ling magic is all. Nothing too serious." She then smiled a bright smile at Kaila. "Your welcome!" She said to her while smiling an bending over, showing a surprising amount of her cleavage.

Amuki had bigger breasts than Kaila did, as she stared at her enormous hooters for a second, but then shook her head and looked back up and her while sitting cross-legged.

"Ummm Can I ask you something?" She began to ask Amuki.

"Oh? Sure what's up?" Amuki cheerfully sat next to her with her hands on her knees.

"How do you…..manage to be so….cheerful and calm in this scary, crazy, creepy world you live in?" She asks. Wondering why anyone would have such a positive attitude in a world like this.

Amuki just blinked twice and looked at her as if she didn't know what she was talking about. "What do you mean?" She asked.

"I MEAN How can you act so….Happy and friendly like that? Everyone I've met here is either a creep, a demon, or just plain scary. You on the other hand….your different. You've been so kind to me ever since I got here. How can you be so…Friendly in a place like this?!" She asked, raising her voice a bit in general confusion.

"Ohhhhhhh…..Well to be honest….I don't really know myself. I guess it kind of has something to do with the fact that I'm just happy to be alive right now. If you knew what happened to me back then you'd- ….." Amuki stopped talking.

Kaila bent her head a little bit, wondering what she meant by that, and if she was going to finish her sentence. Amuki was looking down with a bit of a somber look, but she was still grinning a bit.

"Ah…it doesn't matter! Let's just say I'm just like that for now! Ok?" Kaila chose not to press on the matter, for she feels she might either anger her, or depress her if she harps on something like this. However she did have another question….

"Ok…Well can I ask you something else?" She began to spoke to Amuki again.

"Sure! Whatever you like!" She answered surely and swiftly.

"How do you put up with that psychopath Jack?!" Amuki's eyes opened up in confusion….also feeling a little insulted that someone would call her loved on a "Psychopath".

"What?!" She asked her. "How do you put up with him?! I mean, he's a total psycho. He tried to kill me AT LEAST twice today, he's a total creep. He has no disregard for my safety! He's thrusting all this s**t onto me! It's just….. DGGH!" Kaila felt a little frustrated. But Amuki comforted her by putting her hand on her shoulder.

Just as Amuki did so, Jack was actually coming down the steps into the library.

"Hey I know Jacky can be a bit rough….but trust me he's really cool. No pun intended. Heheh." She said while chuckling to herself.

"Don't let his rough n' tumble personality fool you. He might seem sort of mean and rough, but I know him better than anyone. I've been around him for over 100 years." Kaila's pigtails lit up after hearing such a thing. Did she literally say 100 YEARS?!

"Did she just say 100 years?!" That's what I said!

"And he's really not that bad…You just have to get on his good side that's all." She says in good faith that she knows what she's talking about.

"Sure…. That's even if he HAS a "Good side". Kaila said to herself in her mind.

"I heard that." And then suddenly a sword lands right in the wall to Kaila's right, just narrowly missing her face, causing both her and Amuki to jump.

Jack had come back from his meeting with Lord Death to call Kaila upstairs. "Lord Death wants you to come upstairs right now. So get your arse upstairs. He's waitin'." Jack then pryed his sword off of the wall and walked off without a word.

Kaila nearly had a heart attack, but then she looked at Amuki as if she was saying "Get on his good side, huh?", which caused Amuki to force a drop a nervous sweat down the side of her head…..

And so, the three of them made their way back up to the castle's main throne room, with Kaila walking in front of Jack and Amuki. Kaila pushed open the doors and entered the throne room, nearly stopping in fear of Lord Death's visage….as he was sitting on his throne with his one hand still on his left arm.

Kaila approached the lord with her arms clutched to her chest and her head slightly down, but still looking up at Lord Death. As Lord Death began to speak to them….

"Thank you….Jack and Amuki. You have done well." He says to them in his deep, haunting voice.

Jack & Amuki bowed before their master and said. "Yes master."

Lord Death then began to turn his attention back to Kaila, as he said to her….

"Welcome back my child….It is good to see you are still alive. Now that you have finally unlocked the secrets to the reaper claw…..it is now time for the 2nd phase of your training. Underneath the throne room is a laboratory crypt where one of our greatest energy hollow scientists, named Dr. Steinman lies. He is waiting there for you…..go and you shall find-" Kaila interrupted him.

"Wait….Tell me something." Before she can say anything else, Jack was already pointing one of his guns at her head.

"YOU dare interrupt my master?..." Jack said to her, she didn't move however, as her face was covered by the orange witch-like hat on her head.

"JAAAAACK!" Jack backed off of her and retracted his pumpkin pistol, and then he bowed before his master.

"Apologies m'lord. Force of instinct." He said out of his mouth.

Amuki gave him a look as if she was saying "Sure it was." But Lord Death turned his attention back to Kaila.

"Speak your concern child….." He said to her.

"I want to know something…..if this is my destiny….to be the grim reaper….Why does it have to be me?...And further more!...Why would you put your own so-called "Daughter" Through all of this torture?!" She raised her voice to him.

"Why would you put your daughter's life in danger like this?! Why would you put so much pressure on her like this?! Why the hell would you put her through a living nightmare such as this one?! This isn't destiny! It's crazy! I don't want to be here anymore…..I just want to go home." Kaila shed tears. As she felt too strongly about such a thing. She was still scared…..even though Amuki's tea had calmed her down….it seems it only did so for that moment. Like a drug…

Lord Death's eyeless sockets were brought down a bit, as the inside of his face illuminated with a red tint. He began to grunt slowly and hauntingly as he answered Kaila's question…..with an incomplete answer.

"All things will come to be revealed in due time my child…..believe me….I would not place you in such danger if I believed you were in danger. You will come to find out the answers to these questions soon enough my young daughter…..but for now you must find Dr. Steinman downstairs….he is waiting for you."

Amuki scooted next to Kaila and whispered to her. "To be honest if you wanna call anyone a psychopath, it's him." She then slid away for comedic effect.

Shivers ran up Kaila's spine…. "Oh great….not another freak of nature…..Alright. I'll do it. But how will I be able to find these answers on my own? I still don't even know what I'm doing here….." She said while looking down, but then she looked back up at lord Death while he began to speak.

"I promise you….you will in due time find the answers to these questions. For now, you will be under the protection and observation of The Witchling Princess and my Royal advisor, Jack Von Lantern if you feel like your life is truly being threatened here." He said.

Amuki happily agreed to this, but Jack was….a little less enthralled. "That's A-Ok with me!" She hugged Kaila from behind in a friendly manner.

Jack only folded his arms and looked away, less than thrilled with the decision. But Amuki spouted in retort… "Jack! You HAVE to protect her. Whether you like it or not. Please? She's just a girl. Remember how I was just a girl?!" Amuki said to him.

Jack opened up his eyes wider than before. "Yeah….But you were a different case. She's not." Lord Death however stormed at Jack and ordered him…

"JACK!...You will protect her life. If anything were to happen to her….I will turn you into one of my Black Spirits. Do you understand?" Jack frowned….but he obliged.

"Yes M'lord. I live to serve." He bowed before him. With no more words said…. Lord Death raised his only hand and motioned Kaila to go downstairs with the two of them.

"Go my child…..discover what you are truly made of." Kaila looked up at Lord Death and blinked….still wondering what she meant by that. But it seems that her questions won't be answered anytime soon, so Kaila was forced to accept the fact that she has to find out the answers to her questions on her own….. So she did as Lord Death asked and accompanied Amuki & Jack downstairs…..

Jack, Kaila and Amuki were walking down a seemingly eternal spiraling staircase into a circular layer, where they could hear static sparking, drills spinning and other various lab sounds as the descended into the dark crypt below.

Amuki guided Kaila downstairs with Jack following behind closing his eyes and having his arms folded. "You should really be weary of THIS guy…he's a total freak who REALLY likes to operate on people." Amuki says while whispering to Kaila.

A nervous drop of sweat beat on Kaila's forehead. "Uhmmm…really?" She asked while sounding very nervous.

"Oh yeah. He'll open your chest to examine your body parts and spiritual output…" She loomed over him with a comedically scary visage, holding her hands over Kaila's face imitating a monster.

"He'll squeeze the blood out of your body to examine it's cell contents! He'll make a proto-armor from your spiritual skin! He'll turn you into his own freaky franke-puppet! HE'LL DO ALL KINDS OF CRAZY STUFF TO YO-" She was interrupted by Jack, who put a hand on her shoulder.

"Love….your scarin' 'er to death again." He then pointed to her, and as Amuki looked to her, Kaila had turned white in comedic fear, like her soul had left her body.

"Whoops eheehe…sorry." Amuki nervously rubbed behind her head. Feeling a little hypocritical.

As the three of them descended into the halls below, Kaila began to hear sounds of machinery, and operation at work. Sparkling noises of electricity began to surface….as a voice had spoken out with intense hints of insanity and unrest in his voice.

"YES….it's done…..your almost there buddy…Heheheheh….you'll finally…be….COMPLETE…..And your ALLLLLLL mine…..hwahahahah…Ahahahahahha! AHAHAHAHAH!" The insane man then pulled on a lever switch and a stone tablet called a "Tsuhashima" bed began to rise into the air. Several cogs and lightning rods began to spark and spin as the figure on the table was struck with lightning several times over…..giving it new life.

"HAHAHAHAHHAHA! FINALLY! YOU'VE COME BACK TO ME! MY FRIEND! HE'S… ALIIIIIIIIIIIVE!" The man screamed out as lightning continued to strike, with Kaila's & Amuki's faces flashing,completely freaked out by the events going on.

"Toldja he was a psycho." Amuki said to Kaila.

Jack decided that he's had enough of his nonsense. "Yo Steinman! Cut the theatrics will ya'?!" And then he un-plugs the entire operation, forcing Steinman to turn around and reveal himself.

"JACK!? Why would you?! How COULD you?! WHY SHOULD YOU EVNE BE HERE?! I am Trying…TRYING!...to re-vitalize the fallen….How many times…have I told you…not to interrupt my WORK!?" He screamed at Jack and took off his lab coat, revealing a chisled body with pale green skin, black, wild, frizzy hair and magenta colored eyes along with magenta colored streaks on his body. He also had goggles on his face. In which he took off so he could see them clearly without the dark vision getting in his way.

"We've brought company…." Jack then slowly pushed Kaila in front of Steinman. He examined her, as she shook with a nervous look on her face.

"Uhm…..Hi?" She said to him. Steinman began to laugh…..

"Hmhmhmhm….hhmahahahahah….HAHAHAHAHAAHHA! WHAT is this?...Such…..a…." He then slowly, but forcefully grabbed her face and held it tightly with both hands. "…..BEAUTIFUL…..specimen…..OHHHHHH you will make for some VERY interesting experiments my DEAR! You will make for some….wait….is this the new grim reaper? This is Lord Death's Daughter?!" He asked out of his mouth, raising his voice while still holding her face.

Jack nodded. "Yup. That's 'ere." He said while his arms folded still.

"HahahahahHAAAAAA! Praise the Lord Of all things that die and decay away into a rotting corpse of NOTHINGNESS! She's has finally come….the promise child…" He then began to hold her close and stroke her cheek with his cheek right on top of his.

"Do not worry child…..I am not here to hurt you…..I am only here to help you analyze who you are…We are going….to have….So. Much. FUN. Heheheheheh….." Uttering a crazed laugh out of his mouth.

"YEEEAAAGGH!" He then shoved him away from her. "Could everyone stop being so freaky and creepy for one f*****g second?! Jesus!" Steinman began to clean up his act as best as he could.

"QUITE RIGHT! Alright then…as you wish princess. BUT….we must begin operation IMMEDIATELY! For you have MUCH to learn…." He then crept near her with his hands out.

Kaila backed away from him slightly, but Jack got in front of him and pointed a gun in his mouth. "You touch one hair on her head ya' bloke….and it's you who's gonna need an operation. Got it?" He then took the gun from his mouth, and backed up a bit.

"Why don't….you just explain what's happening in this world to her? You can operate on her later." Amuki suggested.

"Hmph! Fine….BUT….she will not know the TRUE TERRORS OF THIS WORLD!...Unless she is ready to deal with them." He said, raising his voice at different intervals.

"Believe me…..i've seen the terrors that go on in this world. And they're not pretty. Just tell me….what's going on here?" Kaila said to Steinman.

"Hmph….Fair enough princess. Listen closely…..you're in the world of purgatory. The fault line between heaven and hell and all that. You know already…..but what YOU are…..is a dea-"

Steinman's monologue was interrupted by sniffing, it looks like his "Experiment" had woken up. The experiment threw off the sheet covering it's face and growled while radiating with powerful energy that was wild and angry in nature. The figure had a tial and fur….what it looked like…..Was a werewolf!

The werewolf immediately made a break for Kaila and slashed at her while roaring, but Kaila jumped into the air to avoid it. "What the hell's going on now?!"

Kaila said as she leapt into the air. The werewolf simply roared out loud, not recognizing who the person was. "INTRUDEEEEEERRRRRRRR!" But luckily Amuki was on stand by, as she had wrapped her crystalline snake sword around the werewolf's throat.

"No wolfie! Bad boy! Sit!" She then thrusted it down, slamming him into the ground, and she wrapped his arms and legs inside of the crystals, restraining him.

The werewolf struggled to get lose but couldn't as he roared, snapped and violently roared to get free. Jack knocked him on the head to make him stop.

"STOP IT YA' MANGY MUTT!...This girl 'ere's the new grim reaper…." He said. Finally getting him to calm down.

The werewolf's eyes opened, as it's brown fur stood up, its black nose trickled and the glow it its red eyes faded away finally. "What?...IS THIS TRUE?!" He said to the others.

And Steinman confirmed this. "Yes! It appears we have a new grim reaper in town." He said to the werewolf.

The werewolf instantly got on his knees and bowed before Kaila, crying tears of remorse. "I am so sorry master princess! Please forgive me and spare my life! I had no idea who you are! Please do not destroy me and turn me into one of your black spirits!" Kaila's eye twitched…she didn't even know how to do that.

"Ehhhh…your fine…. Jesus Christ this place is insanity. Who…are you exactly?" Kaila asked the were wolf.

"My name is Just Wolf. Wolf Arruzanzaka. At your service M'lady." He bowed to her and stayed loyal, all while barking like a dog and panting like one as well. For his loyalty, Kaila gave him a pet on his head and his tail started wagging.

"Ok…your fine then. *phew* Glad you're at least not out to kill me…. Like SOME people." She's looking at Jack when she said that.

"Oh put a sock in it. I didn't kill ya' did I? Your still alive and ya' got a beatin' heart. So rack off." He said to her while not looking at her.

"Fine. Y'know this is all fine and dandy but, I'd REALLY like to go home now." She said to everyone.

"NOW? But Kaila you just got here. You can't go home already." Amuki said.

"I'm tempted to listen to you Amuki….since you're the only one I like so far. But….My mom probably misses me. And she's probably scared about me. I have to go back. And I WANT to go back NOW!" She told them, while looking directly at Jack. She then began to point one finger at him.

"You!" She pointed directly at him, which earned a slow, but petrifying stare from Jack himself.

"What?..." He said slowly…..

Kaila put her finger down and backed away a little bit in fear of him. But…she remained strong and demanded to go home. "Y..You brought me here….now….Take…Take me home!...I….I want to go home!" She said to him.

Surprisingly….Jack abided by her request. "Alright Midnight Bliss…..I'll oblige you. I guess your "Experiments" Will have to wait You crazy buggar." Talking to Steinman of course.

Jack then took out what looks like a blue pumpkin bomb out of his non-existent pocket, and then tossed it into the air. It exploded and distorted the space around it, and then after the distortion…..a spirit portal opened up.

"That there portal will take you home. I'll be callin' on you again when we need ya. Don't think you'll be stayin' there forever. Because we WILL bring you back." He said. And with that….he left her go by stepping aside.

Kaila then waved to Amuki, saying goodbye. "Goodbye for now. I'll at least see YOU again soon." Talking of course too Amuki, and Amuki only.

"Bye Bye Kaila! Promise me you'll come back?" She asked her. Kaila nodded.

"I promise. Good riddance to the others." And with that….she then entered the portal without it closing behind her….

A devious looking smile then struck Jack's face. As Steinman then noticed and looked at him… saying….

"Oooohhhh my… Your not thinking what I THINK your thinking are you Jack-o-boy?" He said, questioning his motive for leaving the portal open.

Jack then looked back at the gang and said….. "Stay here. Hehehehehehheheheh…. " Then there was a great, big flash of white light….and just like that….She had returned

home.

Meanwhile, back in Kaila's house….things were even crazier, as someone was actually more scared for her well-being then Kaila herself. Her own mother Kaguya.

A medley of Police officers were surrounding the entirety of her house, as Kaila had been gone for a full 24 hours. Kaguya had reported her missing or kidnapped, but no evidence was left to confirm her disappearance. It was as if she literally vanished into thin air….

"I'm sorry Ms. Amiyuki but we can't really find any evidence supporting her disappearance. We can't even seem to find out how she had disappeared, or fathom how she suddenly just left from her bathroom without a trace. Let alone find where she could have gone…..we'll keep up the search for her. But at this point…I think it's okay to assume the worst."

Kaguya looked down as tears of sorrow filled her face. "I understand….." She said with her voice slightly breaking. She then went back inside the house as it was still nighttime out late. Kaila was back in her bedroom it seemed. And just like that….. she opened up her eyes. And stoop up…

Kaila's P.O.V

The night….it had never looked so young….so dark…..and yet….so luminous….I almost forgot….how calming the night had been…..the REAL night….the night time sky that only appears every 12 hours in my own world….the world of the living.

I had finally returned home as I was inside my room…..I stood at the edge of my bed….waiting for my mom to come up and see me. But in reality…I was actually wondering to myself….. "How am I gonna explain this crazy story to her?...What do I say?... DoI tell her I was kidnapped?...Will she even believe me If I tell her the truth?..." I continued to ask myself.

But then…..I heard my mother's sweet voice….harkening with sadness and sorrow….she had been so hurt by the loss of her daughter….she was all she had. I heard her say it might've been her fault….as she might've ran away from home and went crazy due to her …. "Illness".

Thanks mom….you had to bring that up? But….I can understand why….she had assumed the worst. I heard her say…..that she needed to see my room one more time. That she needed to come inside…and so… I waited there for her. And she entered….and saw me there.

"Kaila?...Kaila honey is that you?!" She ran over to me and hugged me as tightly as she could, and broke down crying. So relieved that she could finally hold me again.

I hugged her back…..as the night continued to go on.

And then…..the next morning finally dawned on me. Its sunny glaze kissed my skin as I barely got any sleep last night. I had slight bags over my eyes and I was laying on my side after a LONG talk which almost lasted an hour with my mom. I convinced her to finally believe me on the crazy story that I had. Even though I sugar coated it to make it seem believable. But something tells me….that she knew what I had went through.

Anyways…I started to open my eyes… And I leaned on my back, closing them again and putting my hand on my aching forehead. Still reeling from the events of "Last night".

"Ughhhhh…what a crazy night. *sigh* At least it's finally morning. Now things can return to normal." And so I leaned up but I ended up bumping into something.

"Ow! What the hel-" I opened my eyes…..OH GOD. NOT NOW. NOT HIM!

"Hey….Nice mornin'…ain't it? Heheheheheheh." JACK of all people…..was sitting….at the edge of my bed…..LOOKING at me. This could only illicit ONE….simple…reaction…

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
