Katherine was checking her phone for a ride, glancing nervously at Eleanor again and again. "Still nothing?" Carl's voice was laced with panic. He was clearly overwhelmed—his head a mess, couldn't think straight at all. "It's probably too late, no one's picking up the orders," Katherine said. "Let me try again." She pretended to be flustered, tapping away uselessly on the screen. Carl cursed under his breath, then finally snapped out of it and realized they should've called an ambulance right away. But after rummaging through all his pockets, his phone was nowhere to be found. Must've dropped it god knows where in the chaos. "Call an ambulance," he said, now desperate. "Oh! Right, an ambulance.
