Shawn looked uncomfortable, barely hiding his disgust as he glanced at the overly enthusiastic Rose.
He had been awake for a while now, and honestly, his injuries weren't even that bad.
"Shawn, she's loaded! The compensation offer is huge," Rose said, holding up her fingers excitedly to hint at the number. "I'm telling you now, you better act convincingly. If she senses anything's off, we're done. We don't even have to do much—just a bit of acting, and boom, easy money! Haha, I can already see myself spending it out there—"
"Mom!" Shawn burst out, unable to hold it in. He stared at her, clearly horrified, before shutting his eyes briefly and reminding her, "We agreed—half of that money goes to Grandma's surgery. If not, I'm telling the truth."
