"Professor," Eleanor stammered, "What... what happened?"
"The Stonehide Pack's wolves are causing a scene outside the academy! They're yelling that you hurt Shawn, disappeared with debt unpaid," Cyril snapped, clearly irritated. "Do you have any idea how serious this is? Even the principal is furious! Eleanor, you were already on thin ice. Now that the principal's mad, how am I supposed to convince him to give you another chance?"
Eleanor's face went completely pale. She glanced at the clock in a panic. It was noon—she'd totally missed the promised payment deadline.
Outside, Rose was already out front with her crew, waving protest signs.
Cyril looked utterly done. He told her flat out that she had to deal with the principal herself—he couldn't fix it for her.
