CHAPTER 55
Lauren stood completely frozen, her mind was reeling from his demand on how he wanted the debt to be repaid. She had just laid out her arguments against the illogical partnership, but Ryle remained utterly unconcerned with her feelings or rationale.
Ryle waited just long enough for the shock to sink in, then he pressed her, his voice low and utterly mocking. He knew exactly how much the proposal had stunned her.
“Have you gone deaf, Lauren?” he questioned, a cruel, cold amusement dancing in his eyes. “I require a verbal confirmation of the terms. Your silence is tactically inefficient.”
Ryle fixed her with an unwavering stare, the answer hanging in the air between them, demanding her complete attention. He repeated his words, “I said, be my partner.”
