Padraig woke up with a warm, cuddly Kaos pressed to his side, and a warmer, slightly less cuddly Hestia on top of his feet. “Down, girl,” he whispered, and she jumped off the bed, then headed to her own. The headache was gone, luckily, but Padraig was still shaky. He’d go back to work tomorrow, but he felt jittery about it like he hadn’t since his very first days of owning his own clinic. He knew it was fear, logically. He’d been assaulted inside his workplace by someone they hadn’t caught yet. The problem was, he couldn’t remember anything at all.
