Part of me still wants to fight them off, to survive alone like before. I rip my arm from Hunter's grip, but he watches me harshly with his eyes and tells his men to shift. Hunter holds my face in his hands and stares into my eyes, or my contacts. "Shift." He instructs. I pull my face from his grip and shake my head. "Shift, or else he dies." He demands. "Why? Why would he die? Because he is human and can't keep up, or because you want to control me with fear?" I ask, getting into his face. Hunter's eyes darken and he begins to growl, so I hold my hands out behind me and Gabriel jumps on my back. "I can carry both of our weights." I say and continue walking forward.
