Sofia did not know whether to grin or cringe as Delnard's voice came through the other line. Sofia was about to return to Emily's office after that disastrous meeting with the Knight brothers when her cellphone rang and that was the only time she noticed she already had a dozen or so missed calls from Delnard.
"Sofia! Where have you been hiding? Are you avoiding me? Are you okay? Jonathon is not working you too hard, isn't he?"
Sofia breathed slowly as the words tumbled down from Delnard. She did not know if she was relieved to hear his voice or actually dreading it. She bit her lips and then went into the bathroom to take the call. She locked herself in one of the cubicles.
