Alex assessed the whole situation with William and all the high rankers and decided to attack on all the groups together at one time, taking them off guard. The small groups that William had formed earlier had already surrounded those groups from behind. William and Theo arranged everything so smartly that none of the troupes waiting outside for the perfect time to attack got the whiff of the danger reaching them.
Alex asked William to lead a different group but William refused balantly. Alex was an alpha but Theo told him that Alex couldn’t use his wolf for the time as Blake was channeling his energy with Marie and couldn’t help Alex tonight. Theo was also not Alex’s side. So, as the second line of Beta in this case, he had to follow the alpha everywhere.
