Chapter 12 Was This An Ac...

Eva's POV.

"Eva!" I heard from the door.

Yolanda and I turned to the door and saw Beta Kyle who just interrupted our conversation. I didn't even get the full name of the person who Alpha Seth was talking to.

That information was really crucial and it could be helpful, I wouldn't let this chance pass me by.

"Good morning sir, Eva" Beta Kyle greeted and approached us.

He always chose the worst moments to interrupt, goodness he's pretty annoying at times.

"Did I interrupt anything?" Beta Kyle asked and stared at both of us.

We were both glaring at him.

"Yolanda, who was he talking to?" I asked, ignoring Beta Kyle's presence.

"He was talking to–"

"Pause!" Beta Kyle interrupted again and I had the urge to punch him in the face to keep his loud mouth shut.

"Are you both talking about me or someone else?" Beta Kyle inquired and rubbed his palms together. He sat down on my bed and stared at both of us.

My face palmed.

"Don't mind him, tell me who he was speaking to" I insisted but Yolanda was reluctant to speak.

I guessed that maybe she feared for her life and thought it was risky to speak against Alpha in the presence of an important person, she wasn't sure of his true intentions.

Probably she thought Alpha Seth was friends with Beta Kyle.

"Yolanda, you are free to speak"

Yolanda bowed to Beta Kyle. “Good morning, Beta Kyle "

" Morning " Beta Kyle smiled.

" I will excuse myself right now, I will see you later "Yolanda said to me and walked to the door.

" Yolanda "I called but she ignored me and left.

" I'm sorry but I don't understand what is going on here, Eva "Beta Kyle said confusedly.

I couldn't stop myself from casting a deadly glare at him.

" Why are you glaring at me?Did I do anything wrong? "

'Yes you did something wrong by interrupting my important conversation with Yolanda, I had to find out about who Alpha Seth was discussing with and what exactly the discussion was about but you had to cut in!' I yelled inwardly but said nothing in return.

Beta Kyle moved closer to me and held my hand.

"I heard what happened between you and Alpha Seth. Are you alright, I mean emotionally and physically?" He asked, I could sense the worry in his voice.

"I feel a little better physically but emotionally I feel kind of wrecked" I replied sadly.

"I wanted to punch him and beat him up more than you already did but Eva, how did you pull such an act?" Beta Kyle with a shocked look on his face.

He must have remembered the state he saw Alpha Seth in and couldn't believe that I would do so much damage.

" I don't really understand it either but it wasn't me "I replied.

Bewilderment was written all over his face.

He chuckled a bit to ease the tension he felt. “What do you mean by it wasn't you?"

"He was trying to hurt me and in an attempt to defend myself, something took over my body like a foreign power. I felt powerful, strong and different" I replied with a smile threatening to appear on my lips.

"You mean that you were possessed or it was your wolf?"

"I can't call it being demonized, it's just that, my wolf and I liked the feeling but it was energy sapping" I sighed,tiredly.

I still felt tired from last night, but my sleep hasn't done me much good at all. The power was too much for my body but what kind of power was it anyways?.

"I'm still confused, can you manifest it now?" Beta Kyle asked.

"No, I don't even know how it came," I replied honestly.

"Now that's a problem, when our wolves manifest their powers ; others get to see it or we learn how to provoke it but since you don't know what provoked your powers then we need help from maybe an expert" Beta Kyle suggested and his words made me a bit frightened.

"What sort of expert?"

"It's someone I am acquainted with ;who could help us discover what sort of powers you have because it's hard to put an Alpha in such a state like you did last night" Beta Kyle said with a cheeky smile.

"You are superwoman now" He taunted me.

"Quit it" I laughed mirthfully.

"I apologize for being rude and interrupting your gossip with your new friend" He scoffed and folded his arms.

It was a childish behavior of showing that he was angry. Beta Kyle was full of surprises, he was such a friendly person.

"Why are you angry?" I snorted.

"Since you have a new friend now, I don't matter huh?" He pouted his lips.

Cute.

"You and Yolanda are both my friends and I love you both" I smiled and hugged him briefly.

"You are making blush" He hid his cheeks and I laughed loudly.

"Let me see your cheeks"

I was once again happy but still curious about Alpha Seth and his agenda here.

I was expecting it to be Alpha Trent but when he walked in, I was scared to see Alpha Trent's father.

He entered my room without knocking. He didn't even care if I was naked or not.

"With due respect, you shouldn't barge into my room like that; I'm a lady for goodness sakes" I said and my lips curved downwards into a frown.

He slammed the door shut and walked up to me.

"Your days are numbered in this house" He said groggily with his face stern and squeezed in anger.

"I have never wronged you in any way, so why this disdain from you" I asked with tears stinging my eyes. The happiness I felt ago melted away into bitterness.

"I know that there is something between you and my son but I can never allow it to be." He vowed and sat beside me.

I slightly moved away from me but he simply had this sudden smile on his face that shocked me.

"I don't hate you neither do I dwell on the past discord between your father and I. I simply don't want you with my son; you are not qualified for that position" He said, emphasizing on each word he said.

"It's not my fault that my family was killed and my pack was stolen away from me, I also don't care about your demand for qualifications. As far as Alpha Trent and I burn for each other then your opinion has no relevance" I spoke confidently without batting an eyelid.

"Alpha Trent is old enough to make decisions for himself and you have no place to rule his life and again, I'm not scared of you or your threats any longer" I muttered.

He looked completely dumbfounded and maybe his hand was itching to hit me again but I didn't care.

I had to be confident and cease acting timid.

"Do you think that when the time arrives and Trent has to choose between his Alpha title and you; he would choose you?"

I listened to him and tears threatened to escape my eyes but I fought it back. I wasn't going to display any weakness in front of him.

"When the time comes then we shall both see" I eyed him and laid on the bed. “I need to rest, please leave my room”

Without another word, he exited my room.

I couldn't hold back my tears, I allowed them to flow freely from my eyes.

After a while of crying, I stood up and went to the bathroom to wash my face. My eyes had reddened and become puffy.

I sniffed and walked out of my bathroom. I took another step towards my bed and something pierced into my neck from behind.

"Ah" I yelped and touched the syringe which was stuck in my neck. I felt the substance passing through my spine.

I turned shakily and my blurry eyes sighted Alpha Seth.

"Hello, beautiful!" He smirked.

My body was shaking involuntarily and painfully, I was trying to stop but I couldn't. All my senses felt weak and the struggle to keep my eyes open became cumbersome.

It became more difficult to breathe.

"Haaa" I gasped for air.

"Don't stress yourself Eva, all the pain will go away" Alpha Seth smirked.

My eyes became too heavy and they instantly shut.
