Chapter 16 You're Mine

Eva's POV.

He fell on me and we both dropped to the floor.

"Alpha Trent wake up" I cried loudly. I checked his face and he had passed out already.

"Waka up please" I sobbed loudly. Tears of regret and hurt escaped my eyes.

I looked up and saw the person who shot the arrow, he stretched the bow to shoot the arrow at me.

"Arg!" I groaned as I moved from the position I was in.

The arrow met the ground and my eyes darkened with so much anger directed at the person on the tree. It was actually one of Alpha Seth's thugs who Alpha Trent wasn't able to kill before.

I had never felt such rage in my entire life. It was like a volcano had erupted in my heart; it was this kind of vengeful anger that I had never felt in my life.

I stared at Alpha Trent again and anger burned in me. I looked up again and growled.

I left Alpha Trent and ran towards the tree, the thug climbed down the tree and ran. I sobbed and returned back to Alpha Trent.

He was losing blood and the wolfsbane was poisoning him. If I had left with him, this wouldn't have happened.

I sat on the ground and placed his head and my thighs. If he could ease my pain then that would not be a problem for me. I would handle any pain for him.

"Let this work, please" I sobbed and held his hand tightly. My veins slightly darkened and I was taking some of his pain away but it made me weak.

My body began shaking and I stopped. Taking too much of his pain would make me too weak to kill someone.

I didn't pull out the arrow to avoid him losing more blood, I then laid him sideways.

"I…will be back, hold… on for me" I cried with a shaky voice.

There was only one person to blame for the present situation and it was me. If I hadn't started a useless argument with him then maybe, just maybe we would have escaped this snare.

The corner of my eyes sighted the arrow coming towards me and with my reflexes, it got caught between my two fingers.

I broke the arrow into two and growled loudly.

I ran towards the tree dodging each arrow that came my way. My bones cracked and I instantly shifted.

In fear the culprit jumped down from the tree but I pursued him. I didn't care about the pain I felt from shifting. I was more concerned about the pain in my heart, if anything happened to Alpha Trent.

I hope that the moon goddess will sustain him till I get back. I ran after the culprit, not willing to back down from my pursuit.

I followed another path and looked at him running. He faced me and began shooting arrows as he ran; I was dodging each one of them and they were either meeting the trees or flying past me.

I increased my pace and my paws got more and more soil in them.

I suddenly changed direction when I realized that I could cage him on this particular spot.

I jumped in front of him and he almost fell back. I growled loudly as my teeth yearned to tear his flesh off his bones.

I had never felt this blood thirsty before.

He checked himself and realized that he had run out of arrows. He grinned at me and shifted; his clothes ripped off his body.

I was stunned by his size, he was a big brown wolf not too large but he was way bigger than me in size.

He growled loudly and launched at me but I moved away to another spot. He looked stronger and I haven't shifted in a long while. I didn't know the capabilities of my wolf yet.

He came at me but I avoided his ferocious claws.

He gave a wolfish grin.

I couldn't show any form of fear, so I went at him and he also came against me but my claws missed his flesh but his claws slashed the side of rib.

My wolf winced and groaned in pain, I fell but stood straight; he began going in circles around me.

'Moon goddess, I need your help because I doubt if I would be able to fight him without those powers, I need that power again "I wailed inwardly.

He launched at me but suddenly my eyes shone brightly and like in the past I had this sudden strength and energy that was more powerful than I thought.

I stood straight and my canine teeth caught his neck and I dug it deeply into his flesh. He tried kicking and pushing me off but my teeth had hooked tightly to it.

He growled and howled in pain,I threw him off and his body banged against a rock. I strode like a predator and pounced on him, tearing his head off his neck.

Everywhere became quiet again and I shifted back to my human form. I gasped as my eyes caught the amount of blood on the floor and his widened, dead eyes staring at me.

The power helped me again, I touched my eyes and they were back to normal but deep inside I didn't feel the same. I had just killed someone.

I stood up and quickly rushed back to Alpha Trent and he was still in the same position I left him. I knelt beside him and checked his breath.

He was still breathing and it caused me to heave a sigh of relief.

I stared at his ripped shirt and I went to take it. I slowly pulled out the arrow from his stomach and he bled.

"Oh goodness" I cried and quickly tied it around his stomach to reduce the bleeding.

I struggled to carry him and succeeded. He was heavy but I was able to drag him all the way to the river.

Thankfully my wound had healed.

The strength I suddenly had was surprising. I reached the river bank and recalled Alpha Seth saying this was the only thing that separated black moon pack from these lands.

I didn't care if there was an anaconda in the water. I had to get Alpha Trent back to the pack for treatment because he looked awful and lifeless.

I pulled into the water and swam as fast as I could. We reached the other side and I struggled to carry him on my naked back.

I shifted into my wolf form and he remained on my back. My wolf was grayish in color and average in size. I really had pretty furs and eyes.

I ran through the forest and luckily Alpha Trent didn't fall off. I was more than scared because his blood was wetting my fur.

I saw a set of people coming and Beta Kyle was one of them. He walked slowly to me and stared at me in surprise.

"Eva" He called and I grunted.

Beta Kyle was stunned to see Alpha Trent in such a state. They hurriedly carried him from my back and went to the pack.

I changed back to my human form, not in the least bothered about my nakedness.

"Eva" Beta Kyle muttered and took off his shirt. He handed it over to me and I covered my frigid body.

"it was Alpha Seth right?, where is that scoundrel?" Beta Kyle questioned.

"He's dead, Alpha Trent killed him" I replied with trembling lips. My whole body was trembling with fear. If anything happened to Alpha Trent then I would die or commit suicide.

Beta Kyle cupped my wet cheeks.

"What happened to Trent?"Beta Kyle questioned, worriedly.

" It was all my fault, I'm responsible for his condition "I burst into tears.

"What do you mean?"

"He rescued me and we were supposed to leave but…but… I refused to listen to him and someone shot an arrow at me but Alpha Trent…got injured in my place" I cried harder.

I acted stubbornly and believed the words of a treacherous Alpha like Seth.

It was my fault for doubting his love and if he died then that would be the end of me. I would never forgive myself, his family and people would never forgive me.

"Don't say that, it's not your fault"Beta Kyle consoled and embraced me.

" Trent is a strong Alpha and he is going to survive, he can never leave you" Beta Kyle muttered and stroked my damp hair.

"He didn't look fine, there was too much blood and I said so many hurtful words to him" I sobbed heavily.

"Don't blame yourself, none of this is your fault" Beta Kyle said.

I recalled the look in his eyes when I doubted him and disbelieved his love for me. I might never get to see the affection in his eyes again.

Pallets of tears dropped from my eyes and my chest squeezed in pain.

We reached the pack hospital and he was being attended to by the pack doctor who took care of me.

I recalled his name;Doctor Romeo.

We were waiting for his report but he had not said anything yet. He and the nurse kept going back and forth.

I had not quit crying till now and I wasn't going to stop till I heard of his good health.

"Eva, stop crying" Beta Kyle patted my back.

Doctor Romeo came to us and we rose up to our feet.

"How is Trent, doctor?" Beta Kyle inquired.

Doctor Romeo shook his head. “He isn't doing well, Beta Kyle”

My heart sank and more tears rolled down my cheeks. .
