Chapter 8 Morning After

Eva's POV.

I swallowed a hard lump in my throat as I came to a conclusion about his identity.

I stared at him for a while and he had this dead panned face. There was no single expression on his face and it was almost impossible to figure out if he was angry at me or not.

"I'm sorry, Alpha" I apologized and tried wiping the stain off his suit.

This was embarrassing but I had to do something to rectify my awful mistake. Why couldn't I bump into someone else?,why did it have to be this so-called Alpha?.

The mistake had already been made and there was no need to lament over spilled milk therefore the wisest action for me to take was to leave before he scrutinized me.

"I'm sorry Alpha, it won't happen again" I apologized and I was about to withdraw my hand from his shirt but he grasped my hand.

A cold shiver ran down my spine, it was a feeling of immense fear. It was not only awkward but terrible for a famous s*x master like him to touch me.

"You servants should learn how to take your steps with more carefulness" Alpha Seth cautioned and moved his hand to my chin.

My hairs stood on edge, there was a strange crawling over my skin as he raised up my chin. He wasn't handsome, no wonder he was such a sadist.

Hardly would a female in her right wits except his mate, set eyes on a person like him and term him handsome.

"What's your name?" He asked shamelessly.

He didn't do anything to hide his flirty and disgraceful attitude, his guards must be used to his character because none of them paid attention to us.

"My…name?" I stammered.

"My name is Evelina," I lied.

His mouth formed into an 'O' shape.

“Such a beautiful name for a careless little and fragile girl like you” He talked and caressed my chin. The look on his eyes was not only strange but it creeped me out.

Alpha Trent never stared at me that way, his stare had always been gentle, caring and soft;Whereas the stare from this Alpha before me was different.

It was the gaze of a predator to its prey…my evening couldn't have gotten any worse.

I mustered courage and stepped away from him, snatching my hand away from him,leaving him in a surprised state.

"A maid would attend to your needs as soon as possible and I apologize once again for my mistakes and they would never repeat themselves again" I said all in one breath.

I hardly understood anything I said to him but I didn't waste a second there before scurrying away from his presence.

I rushed into the kitchen with my hand on my chest. I walked to Yolanda who was assisting the head chef in preparing dinner but luckily she was in a position where I could still chat with her.

Yolanda signaled me to come and went to her.

"I thought you were tired"

"I was till I accidentally bumped into Alpha Seth" I replied and she almost screamed but I covered her mouth in time.

"Shush it" I warned and placed my hand back by my side.

She relaxed her tone and spoke. “How did you bump into him and what did he say?”

Her questions made me more agitated, I was already nervous about his visitations and to worsen matters we had to mistakenly bump into each other.

The timing couldn't have been any worse.

"That's bad but did he act unusual around you, did he try any seductive motion on you?" Yolanda whispered.

"I really can't say for sure, if that was flirting or not but I was not comfortable at all”

The way he held my hand and my chin made my stomach churn. It disturbed me more than I anticipated;He had this frigid and frightening aura around him.

It was like meeting the devil in person. He even creeped me out more than Liam ever did.

Yolanda snapped her fingers in front of my face, I think she had been calling my attention for a while.

"Yes" I faced her.

"You shouldn't think about it too much, he has dealt with a lot of women and I doubt he would recall your beautiful face”

I stared balefully at her for adding the word 'Beautiful'. Ugliness isn't that bad. It helped many escape situations like this.

"I really hope you are right" I sighed and joined her in working.

It was like preparing for a banquet in the kitchen. Things became more busy and hands multiplied.

I kept moving back and forth, sticking with Yolanda and assisting her, I personally made some soup exactly the same way, I watched Hannah cooking.

The head chef tasted it and was quite impressed, he almost compared it with Hannah's cooking but restrained himself.

"Let me have a taste" Yolanda snickered and grabbed the spoon from my hand. She had a taste and flattered me as well.

"This soup tastes good, I'm sure Alpha Seth would love this” Yolanda teased and laughed.

It was an advantage having her as a friend because she was cheerful, chirpy, lively and humorous but sometimes, she can be a thorn in the flesh…so annoying.

I was stirring the soup when someone covered my eyes from behind.

"Guess who it is?"

I heard the voice and rolled my eyes internally. There could only be a person with such a thick and funny voice and that's Beta Kyle.

"Beta Kyle" I chuckled and he unblinded my eyes.

"I have warned you not to call me Beta Kyle, we are friends now" Beta Kyle smiled and patted my back.

"It won't repeat itself, Beta Kyle" I annoyed him.

He asked me about the food I was making and I offered him a taste, he didn't care if it was hot.

"So tasty" He commented.

"It's hot like you" He winked and I blushed.

"I don't think I am that hot or pretty, like seriously look at me”

"You are beautiful Eva, in fact you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen;no disregard for the other beauties out there” Beta Kyle added with an exotic smile on his lips.

My cheeks turned red as I returned the smile.

" Thank you for the compliment and you are not that bad either" I laughed.

We laughed for a while and began talking. I gained three friends in my stay here.

I first gained Beta Kyle who had ways of making me laugh and then Hannah who became not only my shoulder to cry on but my mother.

Then lastly, Yolanda who can relate with my situation and my problems can be shared with;her only problem was her blabbering.

In Liam's pack I never had a single friend, it was like every single soul in that place was against me. I didn't blame anyone though, they had been given strict instructions and those who tried showing me kindness in the past paid dearly for it.

Recalling the past made my eyes sting with tears.

I was so lonely.

"Eva" Beta Kyle called softly and touched my shoulder.

I smiled at him and continued our chat. After a while he left and the servants began serving the food.

They served the food and I refused to stay idle.

I made my way to the dining table and saw Alpha Seth, my heart palpitated in fear. I bowed my head and went to serve them.

Alpha Trent was staring at me but I acted differently.

I'm sorry, mate.

"Add more soup here, Eva!" Alpha Trent's father ordered me.

I went to serve him by then Alpha Seth spoke.

"Eva, I thought you were Evelina" He spoke and turned to me.

Beads of sweat formed on my face and my breath shuddered.

"Her name is Eva not Evelina"

"Oh, such a beautiful name for such a damsel" Alpha Seth cast a lewd gaze at me.

"May I make a request, Sir?" He faced Alpha Trent's father.

"Yes you may, in fact you would be granted any wish you want;if it's within our power”

My hands were becoming sweaty and shaking as well.

" I want Evelina or Eva to escort me to my bed tonight” He said and I froze.

"Consider it done," the old man replied.
