Chapter 3 Welcome To The Household

Eva's POV.

Blood drained from my face as I heard that Liam was in search of me. He didn't only look for me but was at the border to claim me.

Did he want me as his slave or rejected mate?.

Liam was such a shameless, wretched son of a b***h. He has the audacity to look for me even after the allowing his mistress and his mother to punish me and being participant to my torture. He rejected me without giving it a single thought of the pain that it would cause me.

How dare he return?.

"Why is he at the border?What does he want for me?" I cried out.

He had rejected me and wanted me out of the pack, what was his real reason for coming for me. Did he want to hurt me or make me his slave again?

"I don't want to go back to that bastard, I don't want him to hurt me more than he already did. '' I sobbed, my heart squeezed in my chest at the thought of returning to that miserable life I lived.

My life has been brimmed with misery and sorrow, there was nothing good until I met Alpha Trent.

Things were going so smoothly, I was mysteriously healing fast and almost all the bruises had disappeared like they never existed. The moon goddess has granted me a second chance mate who had feelings for me and made me experience what love meant.

Was I going to lose all that too?.

Beta Kyle cupped my soft and wet cheeks in his large palms.

"You should not cry because I am sure Trent will put him in his place. He would not lay a single finger on you and that's a promise" Beta Kyle consoled me.

His words should mean a lot but they don't, I was extremely worried not only about my safety but Alpha Trent's safety.

"I want to believe you but…but…" My cries were getting in between my words.

He pulled me into a hug which made me cry the most. I was reaching happiness slowly, having Liam close by was the last thing I wanted.

"I understand the fact that you are scared but you should also know that Trent will protect you no matter what happens and I will protect you too," Beta Kyle assured me.

But I could sense the worry in his voice and it frightened me.

I pulled away from the hug.

"I will leave now and join Trent at the border while you stay in the pack house" Beta Kyle instructed.

It seemed like he was keeping me at home because things may turn sour anytime soon. I didn't want to stay at home while Alpha Trent was risking his life at the border.

"Kyle, let me go with you, I promise not to cause any trouble" I said with shivers running down my spine.

Beta Kyle grabbed my hand and pulled me into the pack house. He locked the door afar.

"Why are you locking the door?Kyle, please let me come along," I pleaded desperately.

"I guess you already know the answer to your request, I'm sorry but you cannot come along; it would be really dangerous to–"

"I can be useful, I could talk to Liam and convince him to leave" I proposed.

The Liam I knew would never listen to me but I only wanted to know if my mate was alright or not. I had a deep feeling that he wasn't safe, my wolf was restless.

"You won't convince that animal, he is a feral and heartless bag of dirt who delighted in punishing you and making your life pathetic. It won't work and you know that" Kyle said and held my arms.

"How would you know that?I have known Liam for a long time and he is really capricious which means I might have a chance to cajole him into leaving" I argued, hoping that he would give me a chance.

" Eva, no matter what you say I won't change my mind, if Liam is unpredictable as you said then we are not only dealing with a cunny wolf but also a sly fox" Beta Kyle muttered making comparisons.

"But–"

"Trent is there risking his life, so you would be safe and if you go there, things would only become more complicated" He said but he only made me feel worse.

That means Alpha Trent was in danger and it was all because of me.

Oh no.

"Kyle, I have to–"

"Eva, no more objections" Beta Kyle interrupted and called for a maid.

"Please ensure that she doesn't leave the place till I return" Beta Kyle instructed the maid.

"Yes sir" the maid replied and I glared at her.

The worry was already killing me inwardly, just knowing that the man I was starting to love was in danger made my heart ache.

Beta Kyle gave the maid more instruction and left.

I wanted to follow him but the maid restrained me.

"You can't leave, My lady" She blocked my path and touched me.

"Get your disgusting hands off me!" I snapped and she flinched in fright.

I hissed and walked to my new room, I banged the door shut and rushed to bury my face in the soft, pink sheets.

I burst into more tears, they continued dropping out of my eyes, uncontrollably. Many things ran through my mind, the black moon pack may be powerful but they also could be caught unawares.

Imagine if Liam brought his best of the best warriors and they set a trap for Alpha Trent and ends up killing him.

My own thoughts made me cringe in fear, losing my mate would be the death of me.

"I can't lose you Alpha Trent, I don't want to lose you for anything in this world" I cried loudly and used my folded fists to bang the bed.

This was all my fault, if anything was to happen to Alpha Trent, Hannah would grieve and hate me.

I sat up from the bed when I heard my door open. It was the blonde haired maid walking in.

"What do you want?" I snapped at her and acted unnecessarily rude.

Everyone that stood in my way was actually an irritation to me.

"I am sorry for interrupting your activity but i made some green herbal tea for you, it would help calm your nerves" She muttered with a little smile on her face.

I had never seen her in the house before and therefore I distrusted her smile.

"Thank you but I didn't request any" I declined her offer.

"I insist, you look really troubled and this would calm your nerves, I promise" She smiled again and walked closer to me.

I stared at her expression and there was nothing but that smile on her lips. I exhaled and collected a cup of tea from her.

I brought it close to my nose and it had the natural smell of green tea but then it smelled like something else. The smell was confusing but as I sniffed some more, my wolf senses alerted me that there were drugs inside.

"How dare you?" I yelled and spilled the tea on the floor; “You were trying to drug me with something! "

I stood up from the bed and she stepped backwards.

" I only acted on instructions, Eva "She called my name and I knew it was time to get away from this place,especially from her.

" No one is going to confine me here "I yelled and tried running out but she held me back.

I pushed her away and rushed out of my room. I ran downstairs.

I was heading to the border, I had to go there even though it meant surrendering myself…
