Chapter 4 Torture

Eva's POV.

I ran to the door but it was locked.

"No,why would Kyle do this to me?" I cried out and banged my fists against the door knob.

I didn't care if it disturbed anyone in the household, I wanted to leave and save my Alpha Trent in the best way I knew I could.

"Enough, please stop" the maid rushed to me and held me.

"Leave me" I struggled with her but to break free was futile.

"I won't let you exit this place" She yelled and held me tightly.

My wolf was set on edge that she had stopped us from meeting our mate, my eyes changed color and my fingers produced claws. I pinched with it and she screamed.

"Aah!!!" She released me.

"You naughty girl, you want to go the border but you have no idea where it is" She yelled and I swallowed hard.

She was right, I had no idea where to find the pack's border;I didn't even know Liam's border.

This was harder than I thought.

"Do you?"

I saw a smirk appear on her lips, I had the urge punch the smug off her her face.

"I don't" I retorted, angrily.

She sighed and spoke. "I will allow you to leave and even show you to the border but it would come at price”

I was perplexed by what price I had to pay but I would do anything to reach that boarder in time before anything disastrous occurred.

" Name your price "I muttered with my breath hitching.

I hoped it wasn't a price concerning money or jewelry because that would be an impossible price to pay.

Asking Alpha Trent for money would belittle myself and prove Alpha Trent's father right for calling me a gold digger. I was with Alpha Trent for love and not his money or position.

" I want your silence about my assistance, you will not tell anyone that I helped you escape "She said.

Phew!.

I rolled my eyes, she had kept me in suspense for such travail thing.

" Deal, please take me there already "I uttered in patiently.

She nodded and walked away, I quickly followed her and she led me to the back door of the pack house.

She flung the door open and we sneaked out, there were minimal guards there and she lied to them that we were going for a walk. They believed her and warned us not to go far.

We walked away but diverted directions into the woods, we kept walking and walking and it became tiring.

"Where exactly are we going?" I yelled, getting impatient and furious about the endless walk.

"Well, we are stuck in the middle of the forest and my aim has been attained" She grinned showcasing her pearl white teeth.

I suddenly comprehended her words. She had fooled me into coming here in order to prevent me from absconding from her sight.

"How could you do this to me?, My mate is in danger and all you can do is prevent me from helping him" I shrieked, thoughtlessly.

Her eyes bulged in surprise and I realized that I had just spilled the beans to a maid. This was probably the worst error I ever committed.

"The Alpha is your mate" She gasped and her hands flew to her mouth.

"Yes and you better not spout a word about it or else…" I paused and began walking close to her.

The further I approached, the more she steps back till her back laid against a tree.

"You will not tell anyone anything or else I will kill you here and now" I threatened, masking my own scared face.

"I know you can't hurt a fly, so stop this" She rolled her eyes and pushed me gently away from her.

"I didn't take you to the border because it would only endanger your life and the Alpha's, I understand your desperation and anxiety over your mate but it's better to leave things for Alpha Trent, he is wiser" She muttered..

She made a lot of sense because it would be sheer stupidity to confront Liam in such a desperate state.

Desperation makes people crazy but I knew Liam was up to no good and I understood that he was just like his father.

A murderer and an evil monster who would get rid of anyone just reach his aim.

"You won't lose him, I don't think you have an idea of who your mate really is?" She gave me a warm smile.

"Anyways, my name is Yolanda," Yolanda smiled.

"I am…sorry for being harsh towards you and injuring you" I apologized for my rash behavior.

"It's okay, I could relate" Yolanda smiled.

I walked close to a tree and sat down.

"I am also sorry about the green tea and…thank you for bringing me here" I appreciated her again.

She giggled and came to sit by my side.

"Why did you say that you could relate?" I questioned.

"I once had a mate but he died at war, there was something that kept telling me inside that he wouldn't come back and he never returned" Yolanda replied.

I sensed the pain and anguish in her voice and presumed that she must be recalling all the wonderful memories that made her yearn for her mate.

"I'm sorry" I muttered to Yolanda and she smiled.

"It's been over hundred years now, I guess I am fine but the void would always remain"

"You are a strong woman, I don't think I would survive the death of my mate;My first mate rejected me and the moon goddess granted me the best second chance mate anyone could wish for" I uttered with a broad but sad smile.

"You are a lucky girl, it's rare to have second chances but I am happy for you, don't worry your mate would be fine" She said.

An awkward silence fell between us but I soon broke it.

"I'm so nervous, I really want to see him"

She simply laughed at my words. I should have been offended by her laughter but I wasn't. I couldn't be offended by someone who saved me from an erroneous act.

"Are you mocking me?" I hissed.

She laughed loudly and I didn't realize when I joined in.

"Can we be friends, Luna?"

The name she called me made my cheeks turn red.

"Don't call me that and yes we can be friends" I replied and we shook hands.

I have gained my first, true feminine friend today but I need my mate.

We went back to the packhouse but Alpha Trent had not returned yet.

I lost my appetite and refused to eat anything till he returned. I was very worried for him but I had faith in him and in the moon goddess.

I went upstairs and back and forth to keep myself from thinking the worst about the situation at hand.

"Alpha Trent, please come back safely" I prayed silently.

I really wished we had sealed the bond, maybe I wouldn't be this worried…

I heard the door downstairs closed loudly and I ran out of my room.

I reached the railings and looked over to see Alpha Trent covered in blood.
