The vast, hollow room was eerily empty because his daughter was nowhere to be seen. The only things that stabbed his vision were the crimson streaks of blood splattered across the concrete and creeping toward his shoes. Reporters arrived moments later and froze in their tracks at the gruesome sight. It took Zane a long moment to find his voice again. "What the hell? How?" he said. "We had a solid ten minutes.
