Kai crossed his arms over his chest, shirtless and bandaged, refusing to meet my eyes.
“I told you, I’ll handle it myself,” he snapped, jaw clenched.
I folded my arms slowly and narrowed my eyes.
“It became my business the moment you blockheads decided to turn my office into a medical theater.”
Lucas gave a low chuckle, though the tension in the air remained thick.
“I didn’t ask to get stitched up on your antique desk,” Kai grumbled, standing up and wincing slightly.
“Then maybe don’t get yourself half-killed next time,” I shot back. “You should’ve told us about Boaz from the start. That’s not just some schoolyard spat. That’s a pack war brewing.”
