(Lucas’ POV).  I paced in Adrian’s office like a caged animal. The scent of blood from a few nights ago was long gone, but the tension still clung to the air like stale smoke. Adrian leaned back in his chair, fingers steepled together like he was the damn head of state. “I’ve got it handled, Lucas,” he said calmly. I stopped pacing and turned to him. “If it were anyone else, I might believe that. But we’re talking about Kenny.” I folded my arms. “Have you forgotten what he did?” Adrian’s gaze sharpened. “Of course not,” he said, voice tight. “It happened to me.
