“I don’t see why you’re wasting your breath on someone like Laura,” Liam said coldly, his arms folded over his chest as he stared down at me like I was some misguided pup. “She’s pathetic. You’re better off without her.”
I lifted my chin. “I don’t think she’s as useless as you say. She has connections, she has bitterness—and bitterness is powerful when it’s directed.”
