I tried to stop crying, but the tears just kept coming. He pulled me close and rocked me back and forth until I finally calmed down.
"It's okay," he said. "I'm here. I won't let anyone hurt you."
I believed him. I felt safe with him. I knew he would protect me. I had never felt this way before. It was strange, but he made me feel safe. He made me feel like I belonged to him.
I wasn't sure what that meant. I didn't understand it. I didn't know what he wanted from me. I didn't know what I wanted from him.
He released his hold, but stepped closer, putting his arms on either side of me, trapping me against the counter. He leaned in and put his face in front of mine. His eyes were deep and brown and serious, the pupils just two black dots. He licked his lips and put his mouth by my ear.
"I'm not going to hurt you," he whispered. "I'm not going to let anyone hurt you."
I knew he was telling me the truth. I knew he would protect me. "I need to use the bathroom."
"Oh," he said. And then he stepped back. "Right. Let me show you."
He took my hand again, and led me through the shop to a small room with a sink and a toilet, "I'll wait outside," he said.
I locked the door and looked at myself in the mirror. I was shaking. My hands were trembling. I tried to calm down, but it was impossible. I couldn't stop thinking about what he had said. About how he was going to protect me.
I had a sudden, overwhelming urge to pee. I sat down on the toilet, but I couldn't pee. I just sat there, and my heart was pounding. I breathed in and out. I tried to relax, but it didn't work. I couldn't pee.
I heard something outside the door. Footsteps. Someone was coming. I froze. The footsteps stopped outside the bathroom door. They were standing there. Waiting for me.
I stood up, flushed the toilet, and went out the door. He was waiting for me in the hall. He smiled at me and took my hand. "Let's go," he said.
He led me back through the shop to the front door. We walked out into the bright sunlight.
He looked at me and smiled as we walked. I didn't know what to say, so I just smiled back. We walked down the street to a little diner. It was warm inside, and the smells of cooking food made my stomach rumble.
We sat down in a booth by the window. The waitress came over right away with a glass of water. "What can I get you," she said.
I thought for a minute. "I'd like a cheeseburger and fries," I said.
"Same here," he said.
The waitress wrote it down on her pad and walked back to the kitchen.
I didn't know what to say to him. But he didn't seem to mind. He just smiled at me and took my hand again on the table.
We were both quiet for a minute. "So, tell me about you, Raylyn. I want to know everything."
"There isn't much to tell. I'm just an omega, nobody ever paid any attention to me until I found out I was Matt's mate."
"Well, I'm sure it was hard growing up, but you must have had some good times, too?"
My gaze shifted to the clock on the wall. "I don't really want to talk about it. It's not a very exciting life."
"You mean you don't have any friends?"
"No. I guess I'm just not a very social person."
"But you must have had some friends in school?"
"I guess." I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't remember any of them."
"Why not?"
"Because I was forced to quit when I was little."
"So, all you do is work?"
I nodded. I didn't want to talk about this. It was so embarrassing, but he kept asking. I tried to change the subject. "What about you?"
"I'm a lycan." He shrugged. "We aren't exactly given the chance to make friends outside of our pack. Normal wolves fear us."
"What's it like?" I asked. "Being a lycan?"
"It's wonderful." He grinned. "We are the strongest, the fastest, the most cunning. We can run for miles and never get tired. And we can tap into the strength of all our forms at will."
"That does sound pretty amazing." I admitted.
"It is." He said. "But it also comes with a price."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"My pack is the only one in the world with lycans, it causes the other wolves to be afraid and they attack. I had to create a reputation of ruthlessness to keep my people safe."
"But isn't that kind of brutal?" I asked.
"Ruthlessness is good. If you can't protect your own, you aren't fit to lead." He said. "I've killed many wolves in my time. And I sleep well at night."
"I see." I said, rubbing my chin. "I'm not sure how I feel about all this."
"You don't have to feel about it, you just have to be aware." He said. "And now you are."
"I suppose." I said. "But it's still pretty disturbing."
"It is." He said. "But it's the truth. And either you accept it or you don't. Either way, I will ensure all of my people, especially you, are safe."
I didn't reply. Our food arrived preventing me from needing to. We ate in silence before heading back to the house.
"Thank you," I said once we were back in his study. "For being honest with me and for trying to keep me safe."
"You're my mate, your safety is the most important thing in the world to me."
He looked at me with those intense eyes and I felt a stirring in my chest. "I would do anything for you."
He leaned in and kissed me then, his lips seeking mine out. Reflexive I pulled away.
"Hey, I just met you, don't you think this is crazy?" I breathed.
He just looked at me, his eyes soft and his face drawn in concentration. He leaned in again and kissed me. I felt the warmth of his breath across my cheek, the warmth of his body, his arms wrapping around me.
Beneath the taste of peppermint and spearmint from his toothpaste, I caught a hint of something else. Something primal and wild that stirred something deep inside of me. I had to have more. I leaned in this time and kissed him back.
"Wait" I thought. This was insane, just because we were mates didn't mean I should let myself get carried away. He looked down at me and smiled. I saw something in his eyes and all my reservations melted away. This was right.
"Don't stop," I murmured. He chuckled and kissed me again.
"You're the one who's stopping," he said.
I pulled away and looked at him. I didn't want to stop. I wanted him to take me right here, right now. "I want this," I said.
"I know," he said. "I want it too."
He was right, I was the one stopping. I wanted this, I wanted him. I surrendered to my desire, to the feelings that had started to build up inside me. I opened my mouth to his kiss and felt the passion explode within me.
I felt his hand slide down my back and cup my bum, pulling me against him. My hips moved against his, feeling his hardness against me. He groaned into my mouth and I slid my hand inside his shorts, grasping his c**k. It was hard and hot in my hand and I panted as he kissed me harder. His hand slid up the back of my thigh and under my skirt, sliding between my legs, feeling the wetness there. I gasped as he moved his hips against me. His c**k slid into me and I felt a shiver of pleasure as he began to move. It was like nothing I had ever experienced before.
“You are so beautiful,” he whispered, as he slid his hands up my waist.
I moaned as his c**k moved in and out of me, the pleasure building and building until I thought I could not stand it anymore.
“Oh God,” I whispered, as I felt my body tense.
“Come for me,” he said, as he thrust into me.
My body tensed, and I arched my back, pushing my hips into him as an orgasm ripped through me.
“Yes,” he whispered, as he felt me tighten around him. “Oh yes, you feel so good.”
He thrust into me again and again, and I could hear him groaning as he came inside me. I could feel his come filling me up as he thrust into me a few more times.
“Yes,” he whispered again, as he thrust into me one last time, and then he stopped. “You are so beautiful,” he said again.
We stayed like that for a little while longer, until he slowly pulled himself out of me.
I could feel his come leaking out of me, and I felt empty when he took himself out of me. It had been such a strange, but wonderful feeling to have him inside me.
"You stay here," he said, as he walked over to the bathroom.
I heard the shower go on and then I heard the water running in the sink.
He came back and put a warm, damp washcloth on my stomach and then he cleaned up between my legs.
"How do you feel?" he asked.
"I don't know," I said. I felt a little weird, but I was also really happy. "It's hard to hard to describe."
"If you feel strange or uncomfortable, let me know, okay?"
"Okay," I said.
"I didn't mean to move so fast with you, I wanted our first time to be after I marked you, but I couldn't control myself."
"I'm really happy," I said.
"Me, too," he said.
He put his arm around me, and he pulled me up against him.
"Is this okay?" he asked.
"Yes," I said. He wrapped his arms around me and he rested his head on top of mine. He turned so that we were both facing in the same direction and he rested his hand on my hip.
"Are you comfortable?" he asked.
"Yes," I said. We stayed like that for I don't know how long, just feeling each other close beside each other. I was pretty much in heaven.
