Miracle doctor Y

It was ten when Yaa got home. Despite being hungry, she showered, brushed her teeth and went to bed. She lay on the bed for a few minutes before she got out of bed and walked towards a small bag near her wardrobe. Opening the bag, she took a stick of sandalwood incense and an incense holder. Placing it on the table behind her bed, she lit a fire to it and watched as the thing started burning before heading back to bed to sleep. As expected, she woke up the next day and felt relieved. For the first time in three years, she slept peacefully without waking up in the middle of the night due to a nightmare. Though she had it with her all this while, she never used it on herself for two reasons; one was because to her, if she used it, she was indirectly agreeing that she needed help and though she knew it didn't make sense, she just couldn't bring herself to using it. The other reason was because of how difficult it was to make it, not only that but it's ingredients where also hard to come by of late so she prefered to use it only when an emergency arose. Today, she had to visit life and death sector and that was the main reason she used the incense wood. Since she skipped lunch and dinner yesterday, she was really hungry. Making a mental note to grab some breakfast on her way, she headed out. This time round instead of taking a taxi, she stopped by cafe shop and ordered a rice porage. As if on cue, the Uber arrived a minute after she paid for the breakfast. She alighted at her destination twenty minutes later. As she stood looking at the structure of the building in front of her, she couldn't help admiring Dr Huang Gadasu. Dr Gadasu was a seventy year old man who had started studying medicine when he was in his early twenties. He had taking a liking to both traditional medicine and modern medicine. He was also an advanced member of the Apothecary Association. She opened the door of the hut and entered a surprisingly sophisticated and modern building totally contrast to how it presented itself outside. "Mr. Gadasu" greeted Yaa as she entered the room and sat down. " Yayaa, he acknowledged softly. He had worked for over six decades and had never seen anyone as talented as the young lady before him. He had once suggested to her to join the Apothecary Association but she refused straightforwardly. He did not complian, after all a medical prodigy like her would probably be wasting her time there since half the things she knew, most of the advanced members were oblivious to it. " There's a very important guest that need treatment. The ailment he is suffering from is unknown and unheard of." he frowned as he explained. At the life and death sector, they only treated a patient if it was a matter of life and death. They didn't care whether or not the person was from an influencial background or not. Since they kept a very low profile, not many knew about them anyway. " Uh uh, let me have a look." she suggested. " Right, let's get going, I will show you to the patient's ward." Saying that he took her to a room where she saw a kid lying on the bed looking pale and weak. She walked towards him and took his wrist and read his pulse. As she was about to tell Dr. Gadasu about her observation, the door opened and two men walked in. " Mater Akwandoh, this is miracle doctor Y. She would be working on Young Master Akwandoh. You don't have to worry, he is in good hands. " Has anyone in your family ever suffered from this illness?" she asked. Though she asked it in the form of a question, her voice sounded so certain. Kodjo was shocked when she asked. It was indeed a genetic disease, when he was young, his father had died from the same disease. Several test where conducted by experts but they all found nothing wrong with his father's health. He nodded his head a moment later. " If I am not mistaking, the patient has been experiencing intervals headache and even diarrhea. Also the patient has been waking up in the middle of the night covered in sweat. Kodjo nodded in confirmation. She turned to Dr. Gadasu and said " The patient is suffering from Debilitation. It is a genetic disease that affect every two generations. Because it kills it's victim at a very slow yet dangerous pace it is very hard to be detected. Luckily, it is only in it's early stages so there is hope that the patient might survive." Looking around, she wrote a prescription on a paper copy she found nearby and told them how to us it. Naturally, she wrote her account number and gave it to Kodjo. Also on it was the amount she was charging them. Dr. Gadasu read through the list and was confused, they consisted of some common local herbs that where used to boast one' s immune system and Qi. She left the place after she was done serving her purpose there. ************ Meanwhile in Kwame Ankomah's office. His personal assistant Selorm Kluste came in slightly after his office secretary had told him his activities for the day. " CEO Ankomah, we where unable to find any information about the person who was bargaining for the drug and who the person was. I asked Kofi Assobga to find information about her but nothing popped up. It will be dificult to do that since we don't.have any useful information about her, not even her name." Distractedly, Kwame nodded and dismissed his assistant. Selorm's phone rung as he was about to step out but turned towards Kwame's table and passed him the phone. Looking at the caller ID, he could feel a headache coming on. He finally picked at the last ring. " Brother , guess who's in town, it's your super brilliant, super beautiful and super model baby sister. Brother, it's been a while you bought me something, I saw a limited edition purse online and they wouldn't sell it for me, since God had no choice but to grace this beauty here with a brother like you, I was wondering if.........." " No." " But brother, I promise that will be the last item you will buy for......." The call was disconnected before she could say anything further. That brother of her's was so heartless. No wonder he was known as the devil both in the business world and the underground. Ama was cursing her brother in every possible way in her heart as she told the driver to drive the Ankomah company.
