IVAN'S POV
Our eyes met next and I could see the anger in Apollo's. He was pained. I had never kept a secret from him, until today.
He quickly looked away from me to Hunter and his smile only got wider.
"Ahha, the rebellious one," He said. "I should have expected this from you, the way you spoke about the girl. Do tell me. Do you have some sort of connection with her?"
I watched as they faced off. I had no business indulging Apollo's huge ego or supporting Hunter's newly found love interest in Ariel. I only felt the need to protect Ariel.
Something had broken in me after I watched her eyes well up with tears. I never wanted to see her cry again and even if it meant facing off against Apollo, I was ready to do it.
