CHAPTER 6 - RESCUING THE MINISTER'S DAUGHTER

ARIEL'S POV I quickly placed my hands over my mouth in a bid to suppress my scream. Hunter's blood stained body landed on the floor beside me and I knew at once that the bullets from the humans had hit him. He groaned in pain on the floor and cast a side glance at me. "Wolfsbane," He muttered. "We're fucked." I quickly put two and two together and I concluded that the bullets had been laced with the only substance poisonous enough to take a full grown Lycan or Werewolf down - Wolfsbane. From the amount of bullet holes in his body, I knew he was very strong to still be alive. If that much Wolfsbane had been shot into my body, I would have died right on the spot. I dragged myself closer to him to take a close look at the bullet wounds. They were seven in total and the one very close to his heart region looked very nasty. Blood flowed freely from the wound on his chest and as I touched it, he grunted. "Shhhh!" I warned. Agent Corluka and his friends were still firing at random above us, their bullets accompanied by a thick white smoke and I figured that it was going to take a long time for the smoke to clear away. We could escape before they knew what was happening. With the Lycan blood now coursing through my veins and a poorly constructed plan dancing in my brain, I began my escape mission. I dragged a groaning Hunter under the bed fully and he grunted in pain. "Careful with my left arm," He muttered. "That's my drinking arm." I ignored him and dragged on until he was under the bed fully. And then, I remembered the girl. She lay on the bed above us, starved of the Lycan blood that could heal her and probably dying. It was very hard for me to think of giving up the whole bank of blood for her considering the fact that just a few drops in my system had reinvigorated me with so much energy. But I wanted to save her life. "We need to get out of here, Hunter," I murmured. "These men would kill us for what we have attempted to do." "Kill the son of the Lycan King in his own pack?" Hunter laughed. "I know the human race are stupid but they can't be that stupid." As if in response to his statement, four bullets whizzed past my ear and tore through Hunter's flesh. "Okay, I take that back," He grunted. "They are damn stupid." I scoffed and pushed his head back and another bullet whizzed past. "Might have lost my eye there," He muttered. "Thank you, Ariel." I wanted to remind him that I was not 'Ariel' as he had called me. I was just a s*x slave. Two things stopped me, however - first, I hadn't actually started carrying out my duties, and two, another crazy idea had begun forming in my head - an idea that involved taking a hostage. We were going to take the human girl hostage! I turned to face Hunter. "Do you think she's dead yet?" Hunter shrugged. "I hope so. She would be dead in thirty minutes max." I stared at the big wall clock hanging above. It had been more than ten minutes since Hunter disconnected the blood from her body. We had barely nineteen minutes to escape and save her life. "Don't move!" I warned Hunter. He nodded absent mindedly and I stood up from the floor, feeling energized enough to begin my suicide mission. I moved swiftly under the cover of the smoke, while simultaneously praying that one of their bullets didn't hit me. I knew very well that I didn't have Hunter's endurance. Ryder's blade and one bullet would have been more than enough to take me down for good. As I edged closer towards her bed, I could see her face. It was already turning pale and I knew that she had very little time left. I dragged her unconscious body from the bed and she fell to the floor. Thankfully, her pulse was still there. She was alive. I pushed the girl back to where Hunter was lying and I tapped him. "She's not dead yet," I whispered in his ears. "We're lucky." "I don't care if she's alive or dead," Hunter grunted. "I am not scared of her father!" "I know you're not," I sighed. "But the humans are, and they won't want her to die, which is why we're going to use her to escape..." "And do what with her body afterwards?" Hunter frowned at me. "Hopefully we won't be dealing with a dead body," I shot back. "We would be dealing with a healthy human." Hunter scoffed, disgusted by my interest in the human girl and I turned away, ready for the last phase of my plan. Deep down, I wondered what experience he had with humans that made him hate them so much. As the bullets continued to rain, I stood up to my feet and screamed as loud as I could. "We surrender!" I cried. "Stop the shooting!" Hunter stared at me, his eyes, blood red with anger. "We?" He grunted. "I can never surrender to these puny humans. Just get me some treated blood and I would -" A bullet hit him on the chest shutting him up and he howled in pain. His eyes twitched and I knew that he didn't have much time left. "Just keep it down!" I chided. "Allow me do the talking from now on." Hunter nodded glumly and I stood up again. The humans had stopped shooting and the smoke was clearing away already. I could make out the outline of a man's face some meters away from the door and I guessed he was Agent Corluka. "Agent Corluka?" I tried. He pointed the gun at me. "Come out and place your hands in the air, now." "I don't think I'll be doing that," I replied. The agent was taken aback by my stubbornness and he frowned at me. "And why is that?" I smiled at him and dragged the girl from the floor. "Because I have your minister's little daughter," I smiled. "It's either we all leave here alive or we all die here together."
