Sabrina’s Proof

Chapter Twelve Her phone glittered in the sunlight, pointed right at us like a weapon. My stomach dropped. “What are you doing?” I snapped, though my voice betrayed the panic in my chest. Sabrina’s smirk deepened, cruel and satisfied. “Relax, sweetheart. Just capturing a little… family moment. Imagine how the girls at school will eat this up. You, the invisible new girl, locking lips with Crescent High’s most wanted.” Heat rushed to my cheeks. “That’s not what happened—” “Doesn’t matter.” Her voice was sharp, cold. “In this school, truth doesn’t count. Proof does.” She waved the phone in my face. Before I could react, he was moving. One second Sabrina was gloating, the next his hand shot forward, snatching the phone from her grasp. She gasped, fury flashing across her flawless face. “Give that back!” “Delete it,” he ordered, his voice low, dangerous. Sabrina tilted her head, eyes narrowing. “You can break it, golden boy. But you can’t erase what people already think. Whispers spread faster than fire.” And just like that, the victory in her voice made my stomach twist. She was right. Whether she had the video or not, the rumor had already been planted. He stepped forward, towering over her, eyes dark with a threat that made even Sabrina flinch. But then, unbelievably, she smiled. A smile that promised war. “Go ahead, play protective knight,” she murmured. “But this is my school. And sooner or later, she’s going to pay the price for stealing what’s mine.” My heart stuttered. She wasn’t just talking about popularity. She was talking about him. And for the first time, I realized Sabrina wasn’t just cruel—she was dangerous.
