It was a week after the masquerade, Emily was on her way to the company while listening to the radio. She heard on a show that Alexander’s book proved to be a best-seller on its first week of being published. She made a mental note for herself to make sure she sends a gift as a congratulation. These formalities were never her cup of tea but it had to be done. She was extremely busy in the last few days and even though it was exhausting she was somehow thankful that she was stuck all day in her office and didn’t meet Alexander since she left him on that porch.
