The Doctor

(Vee)

A short stocky man with glasses slowly walked into the bedroom and bowed to Logan before he spoke. “Alpha, you are a perfect match for her, so I brought some things with me to do the transfusion if that is alright.” He said before looking at me. “ I see you’re conscious, I am Ethan the pack doctor. Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?” he said as he stared at me. 

I shifted further behind Logan, I started shaking.

What does he want, do you think he will hurt us, should we trust him?

Our mate is here, we will be safe.

Ok I will try 

I nodded my head but stayed behind my mate. Logan had wrapped one of his arms around me pressing me closer to him. He growled when Ethan continued to stare at me.

            “sorry, its just her blood work should not be what it is, I am just surprised because all records state that all mist wolves have been extinct for over 50 years.” Ethan said with a smile.

            “Mist wolf?” Logan asked as I clung tighter to him and my shaking increase as the doctor moved closer to me. “Its ok love, he won’t hurt you. You need some of my blood, you lost a lot of it.”

            I just nodded against his back as I watched Ethan stop at my side and reach for my arm. I stiffened when he touched me, and logan’s grasp on me tightened. Ethan gentley slide the transfusion needle into my arm and taped it down. He than went and did the same thing to Logan’s arm and put both tubes in the machine he brought with him and turned it on. “There now, we just need that to go for a little bit and we can check your levels again. Now can I ask you some background questions for your chart?” Ethan asked while I peeked at him from behind Logan’s shoulder.

            My shaking hadn’t subsided yet and this man didn’t make me feel less uneasy. I didn’t like the look he kept giving me like I was a science experiment or something. “Depends” I whispered. Logan had slowly moved me so I was sitting on his lap and his arms where around me shielding me from him.

            “I can work with that, first what is your full name?”

“Venus Lynn Alexandria” I mumbled

“Beautiful” Logan hummed into my ear, sending sparks through my body.

“Well nice to meet you Venus”

“Vee,” I squeaked, I hated how weak I sounded but this man made me completely uncomfortable. Logan just put his face in my neck and was slowly breathing. This helped but Ethan had a creepy factor that not even Hitchcock had reached.

“Ok Vee, what pack are you from?”

“Mist Valley”

“I haven’t heard of them I will see if I can reach anyone from…”

“All dead, just me and Zo,” I whimpered as tears started to form and my shaking started back up again.

“Zo? Who is that?”

“My brother” I said, as I was struggling to stay conscious at this point due to the pain and Zo screaming in my head. I had forgotten to put my wall back up. I think they are torturing him at this point.

Logan’s grip on me tightened, as he whispered, “I’m here, you’re safe, it’s ok baby.” In my ear trying to get me to calm down.

“Where is your brother?” Ethan asked

“They took him, I don’t know where and I have been looking for him for a year, OH God, What are they doing to him!” I screamed grabbing my head as Zo’s screams grew more blood filled curdles than screams.

“What’s wrong baby,” Logan started pulling me closer to him ensuring that I felt his touch everywhere. “Im right here, talk to me please.” He said as tears flowed freely

“Vee, I Love you sis. Stop stressing, I can handle a little pain. Just be safe. I think mom and dad are alive. I snuck out that’s why I got the beating. Stop stressing please it effects your powers. Remember I can feel you and I know you found your mate. Tell him I’ll kick his ass if he hurts you. I’m going to sleep now. Be safe my dear sister.”

“I love you too you big i***t”

“Zo and I can feel and speak to one another. He said to tell you he’d kick your ass if you hurt me.” I smiled as I said it.

“I don’t plan to” Logan breathed into my neck nuzzling closer.

“You feel and can speak to one another? Are you twins?” Ethan asked

“No we are a year apart but we have a magical bond you could say” I said looking at him like he grew a second head. “why?”

“Only twins have this, I will have to look into this more.” Ethan stated as he scribbled down more notes in his book. “Oh who is after you, I mean who keeps chasing you?”

“A monster,” I shivered as I remembered his eyes, those red cold eyes that would chase me every time I thought I was getting closer to getting Zo out. “The alpha of the Blood Moon pack has been hunting us for years. Zo saved me last year but got caught in the process.” Tears flowed again down my now red cheeks, as I tried willing them to go back were they came from.

Nobody said anything for a few and when I looked up both Ethan and Logan’s faces had gone pale. See I told you, now we have to leave. I can’t lose anyone else and this just proves we aren’t safe here.

“Calm down, I know I wasn’t expecting that reaction but still we will think of something. Just don’t do anything stupid. Lilly seemed to be getting agitated more by this conversation then anything else. I’ll just say I’m tired and go to sleep, I’ll leave when we are alone. I don’t want Logan to get hurt.

There you go again, trying to be the strong one. That’s my job, now shut up and cuddle with our mate. Tell the good old doctor there to f**k off and try and get some sleep. We are not going anywhere until we are healed and feed. Just relax and sleep.

(logan POV)

            I could feel Vee getting more agitated as Ethan asked her questions.

 “They took him, I don’t know where and I have been looking for him for a year, OH God, What are they doing to him!” she screamed as her whole boy shook. I wrapped myself around her protectively and tried everything to get her to calm down and stop shaking. I thought I had gotten her comfortable until this.

“What’s wrong baby,” I started pulling me closer to me ensuring that she felt my touch everywhere. “Im right here, talk to me please.” I said as tears flowed freely down her face.

Rex what’s going on? Can you talk to Lilly?  I asked as my mate pressed further into me.

Its….Its her brother, they are communicating. Someone is torchering him, and she can feel and hear it. Rex growled not enjoying this idea myself I pulled Vee as close to me as I could without absorbing her into me.

So they are twins? I thought she said he was her younger brother. I glared at Ethan and he shrugged and then went on to ask his questions.

            “Zo and I can feel and speak to one another. He said to tell you he’d kick your ass if you hurt me.” She smiled as she said it.

Blood Moon Pack? The one that killed Dad and stole my mother?

The very same, Rex growled, I had to struggle to hold in my own rage. Say something you big i***t, Lilly says she’s going to leave, she thinks that we are scared and will reject her for this.

What? She thinks I will reject her. There is no way in Hell that is happening.

“Those Bastards!!” I growled. “They are still up to their old s**t again I see.”
