SEARCH FOR TRUTH
Blanca and Carlos sat across the kitchen table from the reporter, Paolo Almada, who had written the story about Antonia seventeen years earlier. They had invited him to meet them at Carlos’s house.
Blanca had visited the newspaper that had published his article about Antonia, but no one there would tell her anything about him other than he had retired a few years earlier. But as she left the newspaper building, a young man stopped her on the footpath. He said he’d remained friends with Paolo and gave her his phone number. Blanca had called him immediately, and he had agreed to meet in private, on the condition his name would remain hidden.
