“You know I am.”
“Then why so reluctant?”
I found it hard to answer the question. Perhaps the truth or at least part of it would help.
“It’s just impossible for me now, please understand that.”
“It’s the club, isn’t it?”
How could I lie to such a direct question?
“Joanna, I’ve never had so much of myself revealed to me as it has been these past months. I can’t stop where I’m at; I have to finish this initiation. This is so important to me, even if it does keep us apart.”
I could see her listening intently, her wise eyes staring me down.
“I would never have discovered my desire for you if it hadn’t been for the club. And for me to be totally yours, I need to know everything s****l about myself so that I don’t have any secrets from you, or from me.”
