Betrayal

They were a mess of moans and kisses and in the end she didn't make it off of him in time and felt the hot spurt coat her insides. Cam looked up, "Ren I..." she shushed him riding out to her finish line before collapsing onto his chest. They both were breathing hard and covered in a variety of fluids. He stayed inside her as they drifted off to sleep. Ren woke up around 3 a.m. and unwrapped herself from him. Cam's strong arms were around her waist and she had to move carefully so as not to wake him. She grabbed her bra, panties, and pants and got dressed. She walked around the bed, blushing at the memories of a few hours ago and already missing the warmth beside him. She leaned over and kissed him, before sneaking out the door. Cam woke when the sun came beaming through. He rolled over surprised to find his bed empty. He sat up and saw he was sleeping on Ren's hat. He smelled it and immediately got hard again, 'calm down, you animal' he scolded himself. He quickly dressed and ran to Ren's room, stuffing her hat in his pocket. He knocked and quietly opened the door to see the room clean and empty. He closed the door and went to the kitchen/dining room, Joey and Saber were chatting over some powdered egg scramble. "Hey, have you seen Ren?" "Not the way you have," Joey chuckled. Saber smacked him, "Sorry Cam, not since last night." The intercom crackled and Captain came through, "Come to the tech room immediately." Then it clicked off. Saber and Joey sadly pushed away their food and they headed there. Hayden looked somber when they entered and Captain's face was twisted with anger. "We were betrayed last night." She looked at everyone's face, one at a time before nodding to Hayden. He flipped on the screen and Nick's face beamed as he spewed his speech, but standing just behind him in a form fitting white dress was Ren. She had a white collar on and her ears were pressed flat against her skull. "What happened?" Cam growled, "We need to go save her!" Captain raised an eyebrow, "Save her? She betrayed us! He's half way through a speech that wasn't supposed to happen for another hour! He knows everything! We need to pack up and leave! I'm surprised they aren't at our doors already!" Saber was on the verge of tears. They had joined the resistance at the same time and had become fast friends. Joey rubbed her back, pressing hisvace into her arm. "Then all do it." he hugged and stomped back to his room. He grabbed his handgun and ammo, then the rifle from outside his door before freezing. Captain came up, " One good hump and you're ready to throw everything away?!" She noticed Cam's confused expression, "what?" He held up his rifle, "I left this when Ren and I got trapped." "See?" Captain tapped her nails on her arm annoyed, "She turned her back on us. I get it, it sucks to be used, but you were." Cam shook his head, slinging the rifle onto his back and started tying up his hair, "No. I'm going to go talk to her." He pushed past the Captain and to he garage. Zak tossed him the keys, "I think you are right, for what it's worth." Cam nodded and took off for the town square. He wove between the rusting abandoned cars. His mind a blur or anger and confusion. He hid his bike a block away from the rally and threw on a cloke to hide his rifle and arm. He walked with determination to the rally where Nick was done talking and was now having one on ones with the crowd. Ren was still up on the stage. She was unguarded, causing more doubts to edge into Cam's mind. He carefully made his way through the crowd until he was close to Nick. He pulled out his handgun and aimed it at Nick's head, "Ren! I'm here for you!" The crowd backed away as guards started swarming forward. Nick held up his hand, stopping the guards. "I think there's been a misunderstanding here." He smiled warmly, "Ren, dear, please come talk with your friend." Ren stood, her dress had a space in the back for her tail to come through and she wore white heels. It was the first time he'd ever seen her dressed up. She carefully walked down the steps and made her way over to them. Nick placed his hand on her back and she looked up at Cam, "Why are you here?" her mannerisms were ice cold. Cam felt his heart breaking, "I'm here for you..." "Is this your lover?" Nick grinned. Ren's head snapped up, "No, he's nothing, just a bother." "Ren..." She stepped towards Nick and he wrapped an arm around her waist, "Are you still here?" She glanced back before kissing Nick. Nick smiled, looking at Cam crumbling the whole time. Cam dropped to his knees as Nick turned and walked away with Ren. He started addressing the crowd, but Cam couldn't hear anything. His chest hurt, suddenly, overcome with anger, he leapt up, aiming the gun only to be hit from behind. The world turned black and he was out cold. *** Cam awoke several hours later. The sun was high over head so he figured it had to be about noon. Saber was sitting nearby, "Sorry, but your ass is heavy so I couldn't get you very far." she tossed him a water bottle. Cam said nothing. He was having trouble processing the last 12 hours. He pulled the hat from his pocket, turning it over in his hands. He crumpled it up and brought his arm up to throw it, but he couldn't. He brought it down and went back to looking at it, his heart felt like it was being ground into dust. Saber watched him patiently, "Did you love her?" Cam glanced at her, "For a long time now. I told her last night." Saber seemed to think for a while as she fixed up her black hair into a tight ponytail, "Will you go after her?" Cam's eyes widened, "Why? To be humiliated all over again?!" He stood up, rage pulsing through him, "If I see her again, I'll treat her as any other New Haven trash!" Saber nodded, pulling out a bottle of lotion and rubbing it into her arms. Her biggest pet peeve was being ashy, but her nonchalant attitude was just pissing him off more. He was about to yell when she looked up, "Is that all you think of her?" Saber's brown eyes locked him in place. Cam looked down at the hat in his clenched hand, " yeah... she's nothing but a traitor. She took us all for a ride." Saber's face looked disappointed for a s cond but quickly went back to a blank expression, "Captain is going to need help getting everything packed and moved. We should head back." Cam felt like he was standing in quick sand, "I.... I can't go back there. She really took everything I had left from me..." Saber looked disgusted, "Fine. See how much better this path is for you. Come find me when you get everything put together." She dropped a burlap bag, "There's food, supplies, and a com. Do what you want to." She walked over to a motorcycle and kicked it to life. She pulled on a pair of black and silver goggles, glancing back at Cam before taking off. Dust kicked up around, but Cam still didn't move. It felt like time had stood still for him. It didn't matter if he kept going. He grabbed the bag and bottle and went to retrieve his own bike.
