The palace was in chaos. Suddenly the chamber doors burst open.
The Guards rushed in their eyes wide with fear.
“Your Majesty! Alpha Zephyr! The rogue werelion—he’s escaped! He’s out! He’s killing—he’s on the grounds!””
The Lycan King growled, already shifting. His eyes glowed gold.
“Who opened the damn cage?”
There was no answer. Only more panic.
Zephyr’s jaw clenched. “Let’s go.”
In a heartbeat, the Lycan King transformed, ripping out of his robe. His voice was a thunderclap. “Lock the palace. No one enters. No one leaves.”
Alpha Zephyr’s eyes darkened. He shifted mid-run, tearing toward the outer gates with the King and Neither of them looked back.
Neither of them saw Lunae—trapped in her own body, left behind and helpless.
They didn’t notice the limp body in their bed.
